Hi, I uploaded a series of videos on Youtube that compare the graphics of the Skylanders in Giants and the same Skylanders in SWAP Force for each Element type. I thought this could be of interest to people who don't own the game or all the toys yet and that want to see how they evolved smilie

That's a really good idea! But... Just a question...

What's the program that you're using?

Imaginators is making it revive.

Is it just me, or do the graphics in Swap Force seem...muted? The colours look so much more vibrant in Giants to me. Opinions?

How many crystals should I buy VS how many will I buy!?

I have a device that record videos from my Xbox 360 into my computer. I then edited them with Camtasia Studio.

I understand what you mean, they are less contrasted. I think this has something to do with giving them a "3D animated movie" look, like the devs mentionned in some interviews. I personally love this look better than in Giants.

I'm glad I'm not the only one to think that. I havent played Swap Force yet, but judging just by that video, I prefer Giants. Werid huh?

Any chance you could do comparisons of the skylanders when you put them onto the platform? It'll be interesting to see which looks better then.

It is...but the bonus missions make up for it a little thus far. Still need to give the tower of time a go.

Not to say I'm not still disappointed, just at this point rolling with it and taking what I can get.

Graphics tech wise, obviously SF is better. Prev games more colorful sure..

Art is subjective but I do think SF is way better in terms of art direction.

SG and SSA environment arts seem to be cobbled together from stock graphics assets rather than created from scratch. SF environments seem more coherent per level. SG and SSA have that low budget look to it.

Edit: SF feels a little bit shorter in total hours (longer per level though) but I think it's perfect amount and pacing. Quality of non-combat activities I also like better. SG and SSA I felt a bit dragging and repetitive at the last 20%.

I'll think about it, but since they have the same animations and catchphrases in both, I'm not sure if it's worth it.

Could you use the wii version to do a comparison? I'd personally love that.

I wish I could, but I don't have a Wii and I don't know anyone to who I could borrow it. Also, I think my capture device might not be compatible with Wii.

The characters themselves don't look much better in Swap Force. It's mostly the overall look of the game that's vastly better.
