I know this is likely going to be a problem but please understand.
This is the "area" where I come in contact with people the most. I thought many of us would want to send our best wishes to our AU friends. The fires are just getting worse so I felt the need to comment and thought others would too. Take Care everyone! Please check in and let us know how you are doing.

Fire is all over the entire cont. My neighbors who live here three moths out of year said entire towns are burned. Just sad.

^It is scattered all over the continent....very bad. And its not Idle Chatter....many of us have friends over there....and this is a forum like any other.

Wow, why did I have to dig through news sites to find anything about this? How horrible. We have a strong presence of AU users on here so what better way to support them than to let them know we are thinking of them. There is nothing wrong with taking a moment out from this forum and educate ourselves on what is going on there. I hope you all are safe.

I'm not in Australia, but from what I understand, the fires are mostly in the New South Wales area, but could soon cause problems for people around Sydney as well. People who are city-bound seem to be mostly safe, but folks in rural areas around those places are at risk.

That's my grasp of the situation, from talking to friends in Australia and reading news articles, anyway.

Jeez, my cousin and her whole family are in Australia, and this is the first I head... :/ I think one or both of her daughters are abroad at the moment, but that still leaves several members in Australia!

Positive thoughts, prayers, and energies for our AU friends. Hope you are all safe and well, please let us know that you are ok from time to time. THanks to OP for bringing this to our attention, I have friends that I have traded with and talk to from this forum and I am hoping all the best for them.

Ok.....yes, there are bushfires, and where they are it has been pretty terrible, hundreds of homes lost, but only one life so far. Wondered why you were SO concerned......

I feel pretty fortunate not to be directly affected, but I did get a chill down my back when I smelt the smoke the other morning.

I didn't know either, but home our AU comrades who are here (as well as those that aren't) remain safe.
