Somebody with a Wii version that freezes, try it on a Wii U (still the original Wii version, of course). If it freezes a lot on the Wii U, it's a disk problem. If not, but still freezes on the Wii, it's the Wii's fault.
I await your results.

If they had a Wii U, why would they have the Wii version and not the Wii U version? Just asking. If someone has the Wii U then I doubt they care about the Wii version issues. Sounds like a Wii issue.
And what is the difference anyway? The Wii can't accept patches, so no update will be available. It is what it is. Video games, computers, etc. all need to be upgraded from time to time as tech progresses. This is one of those cases. No one is here calling for Ps2 version. For those that bought the Wii version, be thankful that they tried. But that upgrade time has pretty much come for Skylanders and the Wii. |

I understand how it can be completed. I just don't see why it matters. If someone has it on Wii, then they are stuck. Disc or console the problem is what it is. I can't really see anyone going and getting a Wii U to play their Wii version of the game.

I know, but if any knows someone with a Wii U, that'd be really nice to try.
Yes, I know, the Wii is an old console, but if it's a disk, then Acti can release a fix for it (as in, an updated disk, not a patch).

I am not sure this will tell us anything. The Wii U is only backwards compatible in that it has a Wii mode that shuts your Wii U down and boots up the "Wii". I am fairly certain that the exact same system is just shoved in each Wii U. You can't even access the Wii U hard drive in Wii mode so basically this seems pretty pointless. System or disc, dollars to donuts it'll still run like trash and crash even in a Wii U.

I have a Wii U, four Wiis and both versions of the game.
However, here's the thing... the Wii U simply becomes a Wii, 100%, when you boot it into Wii mode. So, if a game errs on a Wii, it will err on a Wii U in Wii mode. Period. |

Ok, I didn't know that, don't own a Wii U.
Btw, a temp fix has been offered by Acti, turn off your console's Wi-Fi, you should be good (more info in the main thread for the wii freezing).

I'd bet you that "fix" works simply because you're giving the Wii less to do and less to keep track of while it's trying to play Swap Force. VV basically said that the Wii wasn't really powerful enough to play Swap Force properly and they neutered the game accordingly to make sure they could launch it on the platform at all. I'm willing to bet that if you don't have anything installed and/or running on your console (clean home screen, empty onboard storage, etc.), it'll run great as well. It's common in PC gaming for older, lower spec machines to simply turn off anything and everything they can in order to run newer games better, or in some instances, at all. I'm pretty sure it's the same thing here. -Doug
