So Skylanders is in full swing again at my place. When we play everyone chooses one figure from each element as their team. You may switch out your team with any lander not in anyone else's team at anytime.

So I'm looking over the water element to pick my guy. Giants lost its luster by the time Thumpback arrived so I was dying to get some REAL action with him, Wash Buckler looked very tempting, Rip Tide looks amazing, Gill Grunt has been one of my all-time faves from day one, Wham-Shell might be my favorite period, and Slam Bam is just a beast and has an awesome look and feel. Chill and Zap fall behind, but they wouldn't be cellar dwellers on my favorites list if they weren't up against most of my overall favorites.

Needless to say, I've been switching my water lander out a lot. I just can't settle on which one I want to use ever.

Which elements don't have a clear leader for favorite for you guys and gals? This could be good and bad (though, with 10 characters being released per element by the end of this run, I'd be surprised if someone said they dislike every toon from a particular group).

As of now, with Wave 1 and 2 guys, I'd say that should be your permanent water. With what I've seen, he's awesome.

Undead - with all the newbies out at once, picking a favorite is a pain and means that some new-landers are benched.

I have to say Air I got Popthorn (so cute) or Free Ranger (strong)

I divided my characters into two teams.

Team 1:
For the first playthrough I use just the wave 1 swapforce characters (with Dark Slobertooth acting as the earth figure and Bumble Blast acting as the life figure).
Focus is on just beating the level and the Swap Gates.


Team 2:
I then replay the level right away with team 2 and try to clean out all the hidden items. I've stuck with the Newlanders Normal Slobertooth, Star Strike, Grim Creeper, Popthorn, Smolderdash, Zoo Lu, countdown and (as there is no water newlander) with Thumpback in a non-combat role (only used to open water gates and Giant Chests).
I call this team the Mop-Force.


Even then I end up having to exclude some (Roller Brawl is left out as both teams already have an Undead)

Wave 2 is out, don't you have yet?

Regrettably, as much as I'd love to jump onto a plane and visit America to pick up one toy, that seems fiscally irresponsible.

I don't have SSF yet, but my Giants:
Tech: Bouncer
Magic: So many awesome ones!
Undead: Hex
Life: Shroomboom
Water: Chill
Fire: Eruptor/Hot Head
Air: Hard to choose.
Earth: Flashwing

SSF will be: (I think)
Tech: Magna Charge
Magic: So many awesome ones!
Undead: Hex/Roller Brawl
Life: Shroomboom/Stink Bomb
Water: Freeze Blade
Fire: Blast Zone
Air: Pop Thorn
Earth: Flashwing

Ultimately, Magic is the hardest to choose, and Air is hard to choose at the moment.

For me it has always been Earth. Pretty ironic that was the element they chose not to release a swap lander for. I loved Prism Break, Dino-Rang and Bash in SSA. I found Terrafin fun too though, and then Flashwing probably became my favorite in Giants. Haven't been thrilled with Slobber Tooth but Scorp has been fun as well. All other element I tend to have a pretty solid favorite.

Life - was Camo switched to Stealth Elf, may go back to Camo
Water - Always been Slam Bam may have to give Riptide a shot
Fire - loved Sunburn, was sad no repose, Smolderdash looks like she will be it
Wind - always been Whirlwind not sure that will change
Tech - Drobot!
Undead - wanted to love Cynder, use Hex mostly, Roller Brawl has been getting a lot of use though
Magic - second hardest for me, stuck with Spyro, found Double Trouble fun, enjoy Pop Fizz too though
