does her second attack do any damage at all?

Her spin attack or star fall both of which do, the spin is really meant deflect and bounce her main attack around and get stronger to do more damage. You can also fling her falling stars at enemies far away as well

Awesome fact: She can use her spin attack in the air (bounce pad, jumping)
