Are there any hats better than Knight Helm? [CLOSED]

I'm curious. I'm using the Knight Helm from Giants and I was wondering, before I attempt Nightmare mode (I wonder could the hard + nightmare trophies be stacked? o: ) has a hat been released in Swap Force that is better than the Nightmare Helm? I like to use it because of its all-round stats boosting, but if Swap Force has a better all-round stats hat, please let me know. smilie

I was wondering that as well, but you can buy the Knight helm when you have progressed through the story enough, there is another Helm, I think it's called the Gallant Helm or something I could be wrong, but it's the one that's at the bottom of the hat list in the shop, it gives +15 speed, +20 Armour, and +3% critical hit, now I know that it's better in speed and Armour then-the Knight Helm, but it doesn't boost elemental power or critical hit as high. Guess it's all about choice really.

About what level do you get the Gallant Helm on, if I may ask?

The Great Helm (final purchasable hat) is available at Level 80.

Arguably, the Knight Helm remains the best all around hat unless something better can be found by questing, as it's the only hat that improves four attributes. If you can live without the speed boost, the "Teeth Top Hat" at Level 75 might be a contender as well.

Here's the list of all hats that require Portal Master Levels of 50+ in the shop:

Showtime Hat [50] +25 Elemental Power
Crown of Flames [50] +9 Speed / +10 Elemental Power / +30 Max Health
Crystal Hat [55] +6 Speed / +25 Elemental Power
Runic Headband [55] +9 Speed / +50 Max Health
Skull Helm [56] +9 Speed / +10% Crit Percentage
Unicorn Hat [60] +12 Armor / +10% Crit Percentage
Whirlwind Diadem [60] +9 Speed / +10 Armor / +30 Max Health
Knight Helm [65] +6 Speed / +15 Armor / +7 Crit Percentage / +15 Elemental Power
Cactus Hat [70] +9 Speed / +25 Armor
Clockwork Hat [75] +9 Speed / +25 Elemental Power
Teeth Top Hat [75] +25 Armor / +10% Crit Percentage / +20 Elemental Power
Great Helm [80] +15 Speed / +20 Armor / +3% Crit Percentage

The Gold Top Hat has a great feeling of accomplishment in Giants, and that's better than any boost.

Well, doesn't seem worth it anymore then.
Sounds like I'll be going with what looks best on them in this game. Or gives stats.

Unfortunately, there are some folks that don't like hats and all and like to upgrade our guys the old fashioned way. I guess they don't care about "those players".

Yeah, I'll miss heroics. (somewhat, they are starting to get annoying in Giants) And 25 health per quest level? That's too minor to make a difference!

Truth be told I ain't a fan of the Hats either. But, when the choice is between hats, doing heroics or else risk watching your guys health get chipped away faster than you'd like, I'd take the Hats. And the Knight Helm is one of the rare few Hats that I can put up with having my Skylanders wear.

I'm an advocate of choice. I hope they know they alienated players by removing choice.

Mmm. I could write out a list of stuff in this new game that hasn't gone down well with me. But I'm not in a spiteful mood, unlike on friday when I got this (not over the game, rather there was an issue with the Lightcore Hex offer), so I'll leave my lamentations and slight grievances aside for now.

So if you didn't like Quests in Giants you won't like it even more in Swap Force.

As far as wearing Hats is concerned, they've NEVER given you a choice. You wear one of a select few or you deliberately reduce your Skylanders' potential in order to make a fashion statement. Once you acquire a hat, you should be allowed to assign its "stat bonus" to a Skylander but wear a DIFFERENT hat for cosmetic purposes.

And if they'd put the exact same heroic challenges into a THIRD game, I suspect they'd have alienated more players than they did by omitting them. We'll never know for sure, though.

Gold hat is not worth as much as it used to be. Sadly there is no earned per lander hat now.
Best part is that getting gold rank in S:G just gives you an icon next to the name on the load screen. There are 9 new challenges to be able to get gold rank in S:SF to be able to get that +75hp boost.

I think the Firefighter hat is the best. 20% crit chance is huge. You really can't expect to be taking hits on nightmare mode no matter what your health or armor is, even though those stats can be helpful sometimes, you still have to play well enough that you can avoid most hits most of the time. To that end I feel it's better to just boost damage.

Also, as far as the quests go, while 75 health doesn't seem like much, it's better than having nothing. In Giants, if you chose not to wear the gold top hat, having all the quests done was completely worthless. In Swap Force you always keep that 75 health bonus. At the same time, it's not such a big deal that you feel like you can't use a character who doesn't have their quests done. In Giants I really disliked how pathetic my characters felt when they hadn't done all their heroics, and after doing them all 20 times I didn't want to do them ever again, at least some of them. if I ever have to do that gift delivery heroic again, it'll be too soon.

Tell me about it. I seem to be the only one glad to see heroics gone.

Hats were once meant for stats boosting & in-game collection challenging. They can be used for fashionable purposes. To me, I'd say they're meant to fill in the stats that most Skylanders are missing OR they're meant for competitive strategizing, tournament-wise...
