Is it just me or did they get lazy with all the Swap Force exclusives? Enchanted Hoot Loop, Nitro Magna Charge, and the legendary figures all don't look as cool as the regular ones which seem to have gotten the better color schemes. I was expecting something nicer looking (like Granite Crusher or Polar Whirlwind), but I guess Activision has collectors figured out and the fact that many will collect something "exclusive" regardless of how it looks. Not to mention, they could have put in more effort into the lighting of Legendary Lightcore Grim Creeper.

I've got the exclusives and yeah, they aren't nearly as 'cool' as the regular ones. That includes the Dark Edition too, IMO.

Very true.I never liked varients but at least they used to look appealing.

They don't look good because it's the same old song and dance. The newness of it all has finally worn off.

Springtime Triggs and Kick-Off are the worst.

Nitro Magna Charge isn't bad, imo, but the pic of nitro Freeze Blade is not good.

Enchanted looks good with Star Strike, though decent on Hoot Loop

Darks were kinda nice. I actually like Dark Blast Zone alot, but could've been better if his fire was purple. Stealth Elf would've been fine if the S3 weren't already in an all black outfit.

Jade was better on Flashwing than what I saw of Fire Kraken.

Quickdraw seems like he might be kinda cool.

So far I think Enchanted Hoot Loop is excellent looking. Quickdraw is also one that I am liking a lot...Can't wait to get him. Dark Slobber Tooth is my favorite from that set as well.

I like Freeze Blade, Star Strike and Rattle Shake. Everyone else is meh. I like the idea but hate the execution of a lot of them, unfortunately.

Overall characters are Ok paint jobs suck from what I have seen. On half of the ones I have seen it looks like they have third graders painting these things. IMO that is the worst part overall of the new characters. There are bad painted, knicked, paint on parts there shouldnt be paint. These things are terrible if you really look at them.

When I started playing a few months back, I just got the variants because my nieces already had some of the regular ones. The trend has stuck for Swap Force. Still, I certainly do have mixed feelings when it comes to some of them.

For the most part, I think they're pretty cool. Enchanted Hoot Loop is nice. The dark edition ones are neat. Can't wait to get my hands on Volcanic Eruptor. It's really the legendary figures that get to me the most. They're just so plain when compared to the colorful normal ones. When I went to pick up Wave 2 on Wednesday, I took a good hard look at Night Shift before I put him back. He looks so much cooler than the legendary one. Except for Grim Creeper, I feel the same with the others. I don't know... I'm kinda hard-wired now into getting the "other" versions.

As for the holiday/event ones... Except for Jade Fire Kraken, I think they are way cheesy.

Really, though... I think some could have been better, but I'm glad to see there's some choices out there for different folks. Just get whatever you want and enjoy the game.

EDIT: I do agree that the paint jobs can be pretty rough on some of them. I'm not sure if it's any different than the last two games, but I've certainly noticed a few Swap Force errors (if you want to call them that), myself.

I think that Nitro looks better than normal magna charge and free ranger is ugly in either form. As for the others I will reserve judgement until I see them in person.

Got sick of the Legendaries with the same color all the time, i just like the regular better.

I'm probably in the minority but I think the Kick Off Countdown looks pretty neat. Might have to do with the fact that I'm a huge Sounders fan.

I love the new ones, excluding Kickoff Countdown. I think they're all better then the past ones, excluding Scarlet Ninjini and Jade Flashwing, who are better.

For Giants my Daughter was all about the Varients. She loved Polar Whirlwind and Scarlet Ninjini and even Granite Crusher. This year we went out and she just picked the regular Hoot Loop and Nitro. She didn't seem impressed by Nitro or Enchanted.

Since we got the Dark Starter, I liked EHL and I guess the Legendaries. I'm not a fan of Kickoff Countdown or Springtime Trigger Happy. I liked Nitro Magna Charge better in person than in pictures. I'm torn because I'm drawn to variants because they are different but I often like the originals better and I don't buy multiple versions of one character.

nitro magna and enchanted hoot look good so got those along with the dark starters. dark slobbertooth and dark blast zone are actually pretty awesome from that but i have to agree that some of the variants aren't that good. though enchanted star strike i'll probably wait for and opt out of the lightcore and regular one as well as for jade kraken. there's not much else really appealing for swap force this time around. not many of the characters are that appealing
