Here Are Mine:
*Everything below is luck permitting, obviously.

First up, I'll be going to EB Games to pick up my copy of the Dark Edition Starter Pack. This is totally paid for.

Once that's done I have a few options.
-- I could get a few of my favorite characters
-- I could get the 3DS game (and would likely swap my TRU pre-order to this and get Hex for sure, but I fear I'm too late to do that. Shame.) I would really love to get the 3DS version because 'hey, another Skylanders game' and because Rattle Shake is my favorite swap character and I *really* love the Eruptor variant in the 3DS set.
Launch Day Characters I Want Most:
Rattle Shake: I love this guy. But the number of ways to get him, and making sure I get the best value *from* getting him, is so annoying! He's in the 3DS Starter Pack, so I know I'll be getting him when I get that no matter what. He's also available as a single pack character, and with Nitro Magna Charge. I don't mind getting an extra--I can give it to my niece. But the temptation to get a single pack Rattle Shake asap if I don't go for the 3DS version (should call my TRU about the above and check) is so tempting.
Lightcore Star Strike: I'm always eager to see more female Skylanders characters. My niece and I play the game together when she visits, and we make up stories for the characters and play with the figures on long trips. (Small things like this are fab for that kinda thing.) Having male and female toys adds diversity and gives her characters to identify with / "become" via play. Plus, her costume is great.

Lightcore Grim Creeper: OMG I must have this guy! <3 He's just totally my kinda character and I'll probably nickname him Zakariah or Lucian from the book I just finished writing.

Lightcore Smolderdash: Same initial reasons as Star Strike, plus I love the character's design and her fighting style looks really fun. (Crap I want a lot of Lightcores. Oh well, I just finished my book, sooo... why not?)
Roller Brawl: I've been waiting to get this character from the first moment I saw her, and the gameplay videos I've watched only cement that further. I should probably move her up my list because she's definitely a high priority for me.
Why Haven't I Listed Any Returning Characters?
There are some versions of characters I have loved being released. And I will eventually buy them--probably in the coming weeks. But my priority will be to get characters I've never played a Skylanders game with before. From what's available at launch I would love to get the new Pop Fizz and the lightcore Flashwing and lightcore Chill.
My View On Battle Packs / Adventure Packs:
I love these in concept and really wish I had known about Skylanders prior to last Christmas (I'm still missing Darklight Crypt. Bleh.) I will likely buy these at the start of November. Though I *may* break down and buy the adventure pack since it has Pop Thorn and I *really* want him. (So cute!) I'm not as worried about the battle pack. I do want the new character (name? my brain just froze here) but I don't often have players to do arena with and Terrafin isn't one of my faves / I have two versions of him already.)
Special Characters / Variants:
I'll likely get Enchanted Hoot Loop. If I'm going to get a version of him it might as well be the unique "special" one. (Note: Is he Oct. 13th or Nov. 5th? I'm a little confused.)
I want a Nitro Magna Charge and we *just* got a Target nearby.

Things That Make Me Go "Huh?"
I'm lucky--aside from my potential lightcore Hex fiasco, there isn't much about launch that is *seriously* driving me crazy. But the following things, while they may work for others (and awesome if they do!), leave me scratching my head.
1. 3 packs that have two returning characters and one new one. This is clever on Activision's part. They take the hit on a returning character rather than a new one, and in turn get more of their returning character merchandise to sell. Plus, packs like these are probably *great* for new players. Anyone who hasn't been collecting as long will likely get some real benefit from these. I was hoping to get a super awesome deal here to get started with Swap Force, but I'm far too choosy about my launch characters (provided everything is available, of course.)
2. The THREE ways to get Rattle Shake. Again, the fact that he can be purchased as a single character is probably awesome sauce for those not interested in Nitro Magna Charge or the 3DS Starter Pack. But for someone who is this is maddening. (Or maybe I just don't have any patience.

3. Buying WalMart's magic 3 pack is the only way to get regular Star Strike, but if I buy that it'll mess me up when I go to buy the other two launch day 3 packs. Yes, I can give extra characters to my niece. But little things like this drive me bonkers. I will say, though, that at least they didn't do this to the console vs. 3DS games this time.
In A Perfect World, My Launch Day Purchase Will Look Like This:
1 x Skylanders Swap Force Dark Edition (already paid)
1 x Target double pkg. w/ Rattle Shake and Nitro Magna Charge ($30) *I may get the red one and my Rattle Shake if I can't make it to Target. I'm not a stat hound and I like both versions. Plus, if I get Rattle shake this way I can always get Nitro with Free Ranger instead and do the same thing.
OPINIONS WANTED: Is it worth getting regular Hoot Loop and Enchanted Hoot Loop? (I'm talking cosmetics here, not ethics ("You do / don't need that!") or Gameplay (I realize that doesn't change.)
1 x Tower of Time Adventure Pack ($25)
1 x Lightcore Star Strike ($12?)
1 x Lightcore Smolderdash ($12?)
1 x Lightcore Grim Creeper ($12)
1 x Roller Brawl ($10)
All together my purchase this weekend will likely be around $115, maybe a bit more if I decide to get guides for this and Pokemon x / y (though I may order those via Amazon instead)
Now It's Your Turn!

Alright, then! I've said my very long (and possibly boring) piece on this. Now I wanna know what others are up to! What are YOU doing for Skylanders Swap Force Launch? What are your (diabolical?
