I have.
There are several perks, that I can see.
- Firstly, with both previous games, the price has dropped (a lot, especially with the 3DS versions) since their release. SF will likely follow the same pattern.
- Secondly, for me anyway, I might buy a (used?) PS3 once the PS4 comes out, as their prices will drop a lot. As SF's Wii version lacks some features, it'd be good to wait to see if I could get the PS3 version.
- Buying at Wave 2 will give you all movement types immediately. If there's a character you predict will sell out in Wave 1, buy a few characters before you buy the game.
- Waiting a bit means a lot more helpful info will be online. You can see characters you're considering buying and check their stats, upgrades, etc. online, and so forth.
- Walmart's exclusive Starter Pack doesn't come out till November, unless I'm mistaking. So you might want to wait until then, and get 7 figures plus the game for $100.
- Who knows what other deals may pop up? I know for Giants, later on, in some stores (e.g. Sam's Club), there were special deals for buying starter packs.
- New Variants may come similar to Nitro MC. I.e. in Double Packs. Bundling with variants can save some money.
