Does anyone know what stores are doing a midnight launch for the game?

I really don't think these games are deemed big enough to have a midnight launch by some stores. Plus as this game is mostly aimed at children I really can't see them queuing at midnight.

If you're looking to get the game right at midnight just go to a 24 hour Wal-Mart. I did that for Giants and at 12:01am I walked away from the counter with the game and every figure released at launch (sans exclusives).

I did the same thing for giants, I just wasn't sure if they were doing a midnight launch is all. Im sure they are for swap force though.

I don't have any 24hr ones near me sadly,latest they stay open is 11pm and reopen at 7. I did try while in VA to get disney at midnight and was told it wouldnt be out to buy till 7am..

24 hour Walmart is your best bet, GameStop usually does midnight releases only for MMOs or "mature" games anymore.

Some Gamestops opened 2 hours early for Disney Infinity. I could see them doing the same here.

I hope my Walmart doesn't get raided by one of the jerks in my area. I had one took everything they had out in the morning, plus about 6 of each Portal's Owner Pack. What an idiot..

Not to mention, most of those figures are absolutely worthless now! Well, except for the Rock Zook he found.

He was stupid enough to try and buy everything GameStop had, but he was using someone else's credit card, and he had to put all of them back!


And, I saw a lady walk away with a cart FULL of figures.

They REALLY need to enforce the 1-per-customer rule better.

^You could get one of everything day one and it will still be a cart full of figures.

If they only did one of each on opening day, then we couldn't have Swap Force giveaways.

I remember the gamestop at the mall opened early for Giants. They may do it again but only certain locations. If its just a small one, not in a mall, they may open normal. You will just have to ask. If they don't where you reserved it, then poo.

I learned my lesson last year. I sat out in front of TRU for a long time waiting for opening, expecting them to be picked clean quickly. The manager had told me they had a guy try and buy out their entire first shipment and when they refused tried to put a "hold" on it with his credit card. What I didn't realize was that was just their *first* shipment before release - they got more. They had three giant walls of stuff, and while there were several in line at opening NO ONE walked out without what they wanted that was available. They were fully stocked well into the next weekend, with only the Wave 2 stuff (which they didn't have many of) being *somewhat* hard to come by.

The only thing you *might* need to get as soon as you can is the store exclusives. Legendaries, Nitro, etc. But, Skylanders are a thing, and they will be very well stocked. What that means is don't wait a month if you want a Nitro, going by in the first few days will likely be fine. Besides, other than store exclusives, if you miss something it will almost certainly be available for the next year - and you might find it cheaper. After seeing some of the crazy sales this year, I'm definitely holding off on things that will be common - seeing figures for about $3 at some stores makes me regret my haste in getting them.

Now, of course this is assuming you are considering a midnight opening so you don't miss out on something. If your goal is to simply play as soon as you can, then Walmart is the way to go, since stores are open 24/7.

BTW, LOL at the people that people saw loading up carts with figures. Be patient people, let those scalpers choke on their bounty, then you can pick the figures up on sale when they have to return them all.

I would recomend buying alot before Christmas even though last year they didn't sell out but still. I am gonna buy like 4 just when I go to pick up the game

So wait what exactly do you do?? like do they start putting the new skylanders on display at midnight? or do i have to ask them to get them for me from the back room??

im greatly considering doing this becuz i just realized i wont be able to head straight to gameplay sunday morning where i reserved the game...but i want to get the figures as early as possible in case they run out on me =O

i hope they have one...
