Some people don't have any scalping/reselling instincts whatsoever. A standard figure, sure, but a rare beauty like this, keep it in its box, you can still play with it, but you have serious bragging rights, and a potential valuable item.

If I had either, I would unbox them. But, I don't have any non-in-game variants but BB and GITD Sonic Boom.

If you leave them inside their original packaging without opening them, they'll be worth a fortune.

I can understand that some people want to keep it boxed to sell, but it is each persons choice to unbox a figure or not. I would not sell it, as I think selling something that you have been given is rude and ungrateful, so why would I keep it in a box? If I was given one, I would unbox it, and use it in game. That is what they were designed for.
