So here is my situation, from where I live, I pretty much have no social life, at all.
And would like this to be changed, so if anyone could give me any effective advice, it would be greatly appreciated.
I feel like the friends I do know are kind of drifting apart, and have done for quite some time now.
I finally have a job, and a few weeks in, still haven't made any friends, could it be the way I am subconsciously, without even knowing?
Or hasn't my time come yet to make friends?

I think this is what I'm feeling depressed about, the friends that I made in High School live quite far from me now as I decided to live with my Dad, and he lives far away from them, it's a long story as to why. I just feel a bit lost to be honest. I guess you could say that I'm feeling rather "desperate" about this sensitive subject, and I seem to be having a rather low opinion of myself because of it. I feel like I'm feeling more down each day, and I'm just putting a brave face on to despite it.

Help would be appreciated, thanks.

I do talk to people, but it's awkward to ask to be friends, do you know what I mean?
I've kind of lost contact with pretty much all of my friends from High School, except for one I think, and it's really not that simple, believe me.

I just feel really useless to be honest, feel like no one really cares you know? It's not all about getting a job, and trying to earn as much money as you can just to live...well, it kind of is, but I just want that little bit more, a nice friendship you know?

I do try to be nice to people generally. It doesn't cost anything to be nice, but when someone has an attitude with me, I'm not going to be too happy about it.

Treat them nicely and if they treat you rudely or take advantage of you, you can either leave them or try to get them to respect you.

Control yourself, realize that other people are not like you and some may react different to certain things and actions. In other words, respect them.

Thank you for your advice, but I'm already doing this, so I must be doing something right. Makes me feel a little bit better, I guess it's just a waiting game really.

Since going to college I've fought and defeated a number of foes and gained allies. It's a great way to do it.

Join some activity, like a sport or something. Groups are always great.

Train under a master. Go to a local kung fu academy and say you want the death punch page out of the training manual. If you can't get it, steal it.

Well, I usually just talk to them for a bit (sometimes daily). And talk about things that they can relate to. Like, franchises, games, TV, art, and music. Sometimes I would rp with them, they seem to have fun out of it. I also talk to friends when they are in the blues or when I'm in the blues.

I did join a sort of group down at my local charity shop doing voluntary work, but that was when I didn't have a job, you could say that I made aqquantances there, but not exactly friends. And the people who was around my age were already in a group, but they don't appear to be interested in being friends, which is fair enough I guess.

I did talk to a guy about Spyro once, and we both ended up laughing about it.
That's what friends are for; sometimes you need them to "lean" on a bit.
Thank you once again. Just needed some type of advice, because I'm feeling really down about it, and I appear to be doing all of those good things, perhaps, I've just got to wait? I find it awkward to randomly go up to someone and just say "Want to hang out?" Although, maybe that's the best way to do it?

-Be willing to try some new things
-Be an active listener. A lot of people LOVE talking about themselves.
-If you have a longer conversation, just ask if they want to grab a meal or something simple. Be respectful regardless of the answer.

Join a club or some other type of activity that you like that way you'll have a common interest with other members and have something to talk about.
