These videos do little to improve my confidence in all of the other mechanics (upgrading, quests/heroics, use of legendary treasure, frankly ANYTHING that hints at replay value).

Now I'm wondering if I need to cut down the number of swaplanders and corelanders I need to purchase.

The delay of time between placing a lander before you start playing is painfully slow...I was hoping for an improvement on that by now.

Not trying to be negative nancy here...but gameplay is rather meh at this point for me.

Her attractiveness factor just went up :P (when do we get one with a flirtatious New Zealand accent?).
Hoot Loop's new gameplay upgrades look sweet, I'm seriously thinking that any combinations between Hoot Loop, (Nitro or normal) Magna Charge, and Free Ranger will be OP.

To be fair it wasn't try to showcase that - but I take your point.

I was a little worried about the jumping - looks more complicated then I thought it would be and I'm not sure the 4 and 6 year-old kids I know will be able to pull that off themselves.

That's kind of a NFC limitation. It's not really known for being a speedy technology.

Lol tell that to this New Zealand-born girl I know :P (it makes us all mad for her, and she knows it)
Anyway, anyone notice that, (in multiple videos) despite massive damage outputs, it still took a while to destroy some enemies, which seem to have much higher health than SSA or SG? Maybe it's just on a higher difficulty setting, or maybe certain things are scaled differently.

Good, then it must be Cali. She is confirmed to appear. Maybe she's just the "hint" voice, which helps gives tips, along with her cameo.

The voice we heard in the video here is Tessa's, which is also heard in the E3 gameplay when you first fight the evilized Sugarbats. Cali's voice is deeper. We may see her later on in the game somewhere.
