PSN Version: Worth It? [CLOSED]

So I'm having a bit of a mental dilemma and was hoping you guys might be willing to help me out here. My old PS3 broke and had to be replaced. When I bought it I decided to start using the PSN to get some old titles, since my PSX discs are not working anymore. I don't know if the new model PS3s even work with PSX discs these days.

I got the first 2 Spyro games from the PSN and they work fine. But I heard they used the original, black label version of Spyro 3, which is buggy. On the other hand, I found a retailer with disc-based copies of the Greatest Hits version. Naturally they cost more and I don't know if it'll work with the newest model PS3 (the Super Slim), but after hearing some of the issues people had with the PSN version, I'm not sure what to do. So any opinions? ;~;

Get the disc. The PSN isn't that bad, but the disc version has nowhere near as many bugs and glitches. Don't get the PSN version, trust me.

Also, keep in mind your PS3 purchases won't move forward if you decide to get a PS4. It's one of the reasons why I still prefer disks other than lack of bugs. I have purchased a few "classics" of games I no longer own the disks too, just for the occasional nostalgic romp.

RIP GhostRoaster. He's reanimated as TakeYourLemons but occasionally is resurrected from the beyond when needed.

I don't plan to buy the PS4 for quite a while. And I still use my PS2 and Gamecube, even though I have a PS3 and Wii. <.<; I think I'll just go for the PSN version and pray nothing bad happens. Thanks for the help. <.>

HIR I'd say go for the PSN version if you have to, but if you want a disc version, get the Greatest Hits version. Also, every PS3 does play PS1 games. It's the PS2 games that don't in newer PS3's.

You gotta believe! Heh heh.

I have that, so yes. If you don't mind a load of glitches, buy it.

For future reference, *ALL* Playstation 3`s play Playstation 1 games, this game included.
Playstation 2 games however, only the ORIGINAL launch models do.

Spyro Classic Fan forever. I highly despise Activision and Skylanders. Problem? Shove it.

I have the PSN version. It's okay, but I like playing it on the PS1 better. It looks better to me and it's more retro that way.
