In today's Sunday Target ad they were offering a special content unlock preorder card for $ 1. Anyone have any idea what that is. For a $ 1 it may be worth it just to buy the card but not the game from them (need my LC Hex from Amazon). If it's just something that gets unlocked in another way...

Good or bad idea in general? Is this a trend to buy these micro-transaction content cards along with exclusive figures, battle packs and other variants. AAAH!

tl;dr- no idea what it does yet, but probably something to assist you in upgrading your character.

I think it's a cool idea putting an RFID chip in a card, and for $1 I can't really complain. (considering what you had to do to get Volcanic Vault which I consider analogous to this). I think if they can continue doing things like this, we could see other promotions using cards- Sidekicks, extra characters. Heck, maybe down the road they'll consider phasing out figures entirely and just using cards like these.

Although, this does reinforce the sentiment that the chip in the figures is worth less that $1...soo.....
