Kinda, but what other element would he go into, I guess they're basing it on people are afraid of snakes, but yeah he doesn't seem to fit undead the best.

Well he "could" have been put into earth, usually rattlesnakes, especially Western Diamondbacks are found in the desert.

I think undead is the closest element you could make a snake character. Or maybe Life.
