One of the biggest downers about the 3DS Skylanders games has been addressed. Only two characters in the game at a time is gone!

Thats fantastic news! The only thing I dislike about the Skylanders 3DS games is that I am forced to either play with my two favorite 'landers, or carry my Portal and collection with me.

Thanks! Nice to see some light shed on the 3DS. I sincerely hope it's a good game, I really want to pick up Rattle Shake and Free Ranger.

Yeah, burn the source code and start over.

RIP GhostRoaster. He's reanimated as TakeYourLemons but occasionally is resurrected from the beyond when needed.

Wow, a huge playable roster depending on your collection.

That's really cool.

Oh wow! That's pretty good. Of course, this has the implication that you could borrow a friends toy and add it to your collection. Depends how it's going to work, will you need to re-add your collection every time you start the game? Seems a bit of a drawn out process, so I guess they're just gonna have to risk people doing things like borrowing toys from friends or bringing their 3DS and portal into shops to add the Skylanders to the game without even buying them.

i will be considering buying a 3dsxl this time for the skylanders experience. when you can have all the charterers in the game, without having to drag out the huge portal every time. when i want to do a little changing of playable character. so this will be a good thing when i want my skylanders fix.....

I had the thought that you could let a friend borrow a figure and it is unlocked in their game. You sire have shown the problem with this method. I wonder if Activision have taken this into account. It would be funny if parents organised Skylanders parties so that they could load their kids games up with the different ones that they have.

At least now I won't have to split my landers team up into the console bound ones and the 3DS ones. Now I can just load them all onto the 3DS at level 1 and then just never update the figure making them console only. This is awesome.

Let's see. I'm extremly glad they decieded to do this. It was a pain only having access to two of my Skylanders and honestly it's more than just car rides. Like If I'm at a friends house or playing late at night. My family doesn't want tobe waken up by the very bright glow of the portal. Plus considering how the new Swaping mechanics are. leaving it the way it was in previous version would make it even more tedious.

As for the "What if they borrow from a friend." Technichally you still have the same thing with the first two. True it'd only last until the player would switch the active skylander but it'd still have a similer effect. Besides, how many people only buy the 3DS version off the game? So they'd still need that characterthey borrowed if they got the console version.

Now, with this new information in mind it makes me wonder a few other similer things.

1) In the previous games, they still had 2 active skylanders to use during a level. Will the game continue with this or will you have access to your whole collection mid level? Or perhaps will they drop it to only 1 skylander in a level.

2) Some of you may have noticed but the "Special" skylanders, like GITD S2 Cynder. (or maybe it was just her. Though I doubt it.) But if you notice that they were never registered into the collection. So question is will they adjust the collection to add those or will they do something else with it?
