I know this is a random question, but this has been on my mind for a while. In the game, there are treasures to collect, which normally have these creative complex names which most kids would not understand, but a smart person could connect the dots. But the Sterling Tapir treasure always had me second guessing.
The Sterling Tapir is a mounted head of a Jackalope. Okay, I almost get the "Sterling" bit, but why is it called a "Tapir?" It's obviously not a tapir. I should know, as tapirs are among my favorite animals. My dad said Tapirs are rodents, and maybe it just refers to "rodent," but even that doesn't fly since a Jackalope is a rabbit, and rabbits are lapins/lagomorphs, not rodents. So... What exactly do they mean by "Sterling Tapir" if it's not a tapir or a rodent?

JACKrabbit + antALOPE = Jackalope. I mostly know what that is from a 90's reality show called America's Funniest People, hosted by Dave Coulier. He regularly did stupid videos starring a Jackalope voiced by him. Mosly they exist as urban legend in some places, where they create stuffed versions as proof of the Jackalope's existence.
I similarly can't find pics. Here's the icon they use here on DarkSpyro: A tapir actually resembles a pig, except for a very unique head: I would say the item could arguably look like a tapir head with antlers, but does seem to more strongly resemble a Jackalope, with those googly eyes and buck-teeth. A Tapilope? Now that we're talking about it, I feel like I recall when I saw it that the name "Tapir" seemed wrong, it also looked like a Jackalope to me, too.

Well, yes, I always have a lot to say, I freely admit that, LOL! (Though in this case most of the size of my post comes from the big picture I shared)
I agree, the Sterling Tapir looks more like a sloppily-made Jackalope, made with random pieces of trash lying around. Especially since he seems to have a metal plate for a nose.

I looked at it again, it is DEFINITELY not a tapir.
