Greetings, I'm a new skylander fan. I started a couple weeks ago. I'm 19 and feel like I'm a little too old to still be interested in these toys, but oh wells YOLO! I became addicted and hunted these skylanders everywhere I go. I only need lightcore hex, lightcore pop fizz, zook, drobot, and wrecking ball to complete my skylanders giants collection, I'm a little late on spyro's adventure so I didn't wanna trouble myself to collect all of those, but I am going to get the game after i beat Giants. Looking forward to swap force. I'm going to posts all my skylanders I have so far.

Welcome aboard. Collecting the first game characters is very achievable outside the purchase of 2 or 3 things---so I'd say go for it. Then again, if you aren't doing it for collecting but for game purposes...all of your core Giants skylanders that were reposed from the first game are totally playable AND they will also unlock heroics. You'll only have 8 that you'll have to buy to unlock all of the characters from the first game.

thank you for your warm welcome, hmm well i play the game with my girlfriend every night, but i have a passion for collecting things so that's why i started collecting all the skylanders giants, when i realized there was the first set, spyro's adventure. i told myself i was only gonna go for skylanders giants because i thought it'd be too crazy to hunt down the first set.

Character form Spyro's Adventure aren't too hard to find, but you are gonna have to be willing to fork over some cash to achieve maximum collection status.

Congrats and welcome. I think your never too old or young for Skylanders, there are some people in their 50's playing Skylanders. I am in my 30's and my wife loves me being a big kid and collecting/hunting and gaming with Skylanders. I used to get upset when she called them toys, I would tell her "no they are figures" I was wrong they are both. As far as being crazy to hunt down the first set, I would say it varies by location, I started late and was able to find them all. Just took a lot of time, driving, calling, searching - all things known well to a hunter.

Yeah it happened to me as well...just an innocent game...turned into a feverish easter egg hunt of sorts...I too have a collecting bug in general...but I call it OCD lol.

I'm a lot like you just a few months ahead- i've decided as far as SSA goes just to get the figures not remade in giants and any unique varients, so the forgotten 8, legendary trigger happy, chop chop, spyro and bash and dark spyro- thats a good mini-goal to get you started on the first game if you want to get every playable character- don't forget all your reposes work in SSA, so its still worth getting the game

haha im planning to buy the spyros adventure game because im almost done with the giants game. i still havent decided if i should start collecting the spyros adventure figures.

yeah i dont mind that these things are toys, **** it haha, i enjoy it i aint in grade school no more, i have a beautiful son and girl, but yeah i been bored watching my kid so i decided to find something to occupy my time. i got the wii u and skylanders giants, my girl plays it now and then, but when we dont i would be occupied on these figures. i been looking online at amazon, and been going around to target, walmart, toys r us, looking for ones i dont have.

And don't be alarmed. There are plenty of people who are adults who play Skylanders, both parents and childless alike (I myself am twenty-one).

In my opinion, grab the Spyro's Adventure's characters that never made it to Giants (Voodood, Ghost Roaster, Sunburn, Camo, Warnado, Dino-Rang, Boomer and Wham-Shell) as some of them are really fun to play.
I missed the Spyro's Adventures bandwagon as I didn't start collecting and playing until January and I have almost all of them. They're out there, you just gotta look.

yeah i understand that :/ i wished i started earlier but i just started 2 weeks ago i have over 50 skylanders now. if they have a sale for spyros adventure i might start haha

Welcome to the fun, I'm 29yrs old myself. My wife who's 27 and I started playing/collecting when our son who's 7 got the game from his aunt on xmas. I had heard of the game prior to him getting it and he had been asking for it for months. I didn't realize till we played it on the 26th what it was. How can you go wrong when the villain is the voice of invader zim! I was hooked there and the collecting them reminds me of pokemon cards as a kid so it was something to share with my son from when I was younger.

SSA is easy to do minus a few like ppl above said. I would move on getting the missing 8 ASAP. Wham shell can be found at some TRU inside a castle wall looking case. It's like $24.99 but you get wham with it. Voodoo some TRu still have. Boomer is prob going to be the hardest along with Ghostrooster, so you may need to spend some cash on ebay for those. Sunburn is in a 19.99 adventure pack and warnaard and camo are in a 3 pack with ignator that some TRU still have but are selling out of so i'd move on that. Dinorang can be found, he aint rare yet. amazon has him for like $15-$20.

Check walgreens for SSA stuff they tend to have singles of things. Bj's wholesale if you have one tends to have wave 1 of skylander giants (series 2 of the following slambam, zook, and bash are the rares.) Also single pack of ignator seems to be rare if your doing singles and triples or both. OH and Bj wholesale is clearing out giants stuff. 4.99 for singles, 9.99 for giants and $6-7 for lightcores. Officemax also has very few giants, ive seen them there. if you have an FYE they have giants characters and some spyro adventurer 3 packs. They have packpacks that come with ssa 3 packs that are on clearance around me, so they may ahve them near you possibly.

There is a frozen yogurt shop here called YOLO'S

I enjoy skylanders and I'm 28. Mostly because its not terribly hard to play and it has appeal. AND its multi-player without internet needed. Good luck on collecting the originals. They might as well be retired. I got lucky when the craz took me. The original was only 4 months in so figures were still fresh. If you want a pirate ship or original ignitor, I got a spare I want to get rid of.

I originally bought it for my 7yr old, but I play it too and im 39.
He plays it for the story and characters, Im an OCD completionist so I make sure everything is found and I like beating the time to get all the stars for each level.

I've found collecting these things as addicting as Pokemon (and I got a full Generation 4 pokedex!). Due to the fact I can only get them while visiting America on vacation, that has limited my collection quite a bit, but I do have a good deal of characters.
Now trying to withhold from buying any to save up for a 3ds and SSA3DS.

haha that would be nice, but i think skylanders on consoles is better than handheld because its not as long as pokemon ! and i like playing 2 player.

ahh that would be a headache, idk if i can fade that move. i'm gonna be content with my collection of the SG. I'll just get a head start on swap force.

haha thank you for your vivid advice of collecting these things, that's very helpful, i'm going to keep my eyes open and slowly collect all the SSA characters over time without stressing over it, haha, i'm going to look for the 8 that doesnt get reposed in series 2. voodoo is amazon right now for 8.99, i'm planning to get him, i already have sunburn also. i ordered the 3 pack that comes with warnado camo and ignitor. so i'm just missing ghost roaster, wham shell, and boomer basically. i'm going to keep my eyes out at stores for those while i look for others !
