I just want Infinity more because I know that they they will make you need to buy reposes if you want to play old Heroics in Swap Force. If they didn't pull that stunt then I would just ignore the reposes entirely and be looking forward to Swap Force more, but as it is it's going to be quite a while before I even get the game, if I do at all- I'm quite happy with Giants and Spyro's Adventure and I know I will be revisiting those for years. Infinity will be a nice break as well and is coming out much sooner. Here's hoping they don't push the buyers into something similar.

They're both money-leeching products but I think Infinity looks like child's play personally. I know, I know: Skylanders is a game geared to children but, let's face it, Disney ALWAYS markets to children first and foremost and judging by the clips the LAST thing the game will have is an ACTUAL storyline. So I'd rather take the thin plot of Skylanders than no-plot-movie rehash of Infinity anyday.

Plus those figures are UGLY!

Disney infinity seems to be quite boring in comparison, so I'm going with Swap Force

When Disney has Star Wars figures (if they do) I will start getting the sets. Till then the 3 they've announced to start don't interest me.

I have to agree with kappa minus the parents sucking up and swap force sucking because of no toys for bob.But yeah I think Infinity will win because of how it has online and that it is a child friendly and of course because people know the characters.Most people grew up with them also and I am even thinking about getting them my self and stoping with skaylanders after swap force.

Pen and paper says Disney, because it's Disney - that is a good enough reason for it to sell well. But, at the kind of prices they're charging, Skylanders will be cheaper - so wouldn't parents be more likely to buy Skylanders?

But, personally, I won't be buying Infinity. I only like very few of the series they're making toys for so it'd be a bit too much to shed out £60-ish for a game that includes characters/settings I don't particularly like.

I have to disagree with your last reason, because you haven't even played Swap Force and you don't know if it's going to completely suck or not. You're basing this months before it's even released.

There are a lot of people already invested in Skylanders that will most likely want to continue with that investment. Infinity will be like starting over for a more expensive price and no guarantee it will be good. I mean just from the previews the game looks boring.

Skylanders because most people are already invested in it and will stick with skylanders and won't skedaddle over to infinity.

if this same thread was posted on disney infinity forums..do you think theyd all say skylanders?

Just because people are invested in Skylanders does not mean that they'll want to get Swap Force.

I personally feel very burnt from Giants. Not letting the old figures get Wow Pows or swap paths basically killed the Series 1 figures appeal and made getting Series 2 figures almot mandatory. Also the placement of Series 2 figures in the battle packs and triples forced them down your throat and made you get them.

In Disney Infinity more of the character data is stored in the game and means that I highly doubt that there'll be any Series 2 characters for Infinity 2 meaning that each figure will be a long investment, making them better value for money.

So yes I'm on the Disney Infinity side but won't get Infinity 2 if they add some sort of Series 2 figure. Disney have got literally hundreds of characters to make figures of though so I doubt this'll happen.

I don't know, personally, Infinity has the characters and worlds I like the most. But objectively, Swap Force will probably be better.

Probably stated above but I don't care to read. You can't have Skylanders vs anything else on a Skylanders forum. It's biased to Skylanders obviously!

The LucasArts games have been very hit and miss---I'd have to see how good the game is--but I might consider it for that alone. I'm a ground zero Star Wars fan who saw the original movie when I was seven. I'm assuming Lucas will somehow be involved in the game and worried he will taint it like he did with the prequels lol.

Yep--and that's why I'm still on the fence. If Activision/Vicarious doesn't solve some of these money grabs I'll vote towards Infinity.

Starwars Infinity, Marvel Infinity, Tron infinity all these franchise are huge that they prolly wud stand independent but wud be epic if mix all Disney Fantasy and sci fi franchise.

I like them both. I'll be getting them both, but only the characters that I like from Infinity. With so many characters from the GINORMOUS arsenal of Disney characters, I'll only get the ones I want, like Violet, Tow Mater, and Phineas.

But really, from what I hear from the hardware is that they are hoping it's a solid platform that doesn't need a "sequel". We'll see how that works out for them. They may be forced into an upgrade if folks still eat up skylanders and accept these constant hardware upgrade purchases.

The "war" as you call it will be on many fronts. This is just one of them--feature comparison. It's a bit clumsy to compare the two because outside of the character being placed on the hardware it's all a different approach to it.

The S2 figures are mandatory if you want to 100% the game which is a large majority of the games adult fanbase.

They could release an S2 figure if they want to but there'd be less to add. There is nothing that they could universally add ingame to every character as each characters game is a completey different playstyle. The only thing I can see that would class as series 2 would be a repose, and that would not make them mandatory.

I'm still pretty neutral about Infinity.

i guess i miss spelled a word or something, since you censored it... just censore the word or fix the mistake. it was nothing spectacular that should lead to deleting of a post, thats for sure... you quoted it and all can see it and it is nothing wrong with it...

I just don't like the cross genre nonsense of Disney Infinity. It would be cool to play Mr. Incredible and take on robots and cyborgs and stuff, but it would all be ruined when Mickey and Uncle Reamus swoop in and join the action. Disney has the rights to some really cool IP's but some of them would be like oil and water.

You might have a really fun starwars level where you are sneaking into an Imperial outpost and then Lightning McQeen and Mary Poppins come running to kill the mood. That doesn't appeal to me.

This may apply to the creator of the Toybox world but can also set limits who can join or enter as you have full control of your world. Beside if you really like a certain franchise just stick with the Playsets. Their not forcing you to play toybox if you dont like its just an added bonus.

Really if only skylanders wud just put a kid friendly online features and it wud be golden.

Id still support both games. We just had fun playing toy meets video game genre.

Tis cannot happen. EVER. Disney said right from the start of production that the characters will not mix in their own worlds. The only way to mix different franchises is in the Toy Box mode, and that world is user created anyway.

Think of Disney Infinity as a seperate video game for each franchise with a DIY mode stuck on and you won't be far wrong.
