Yeah, the plastic is purple for everybody and glows blue for everybody. This is also not the first time I've seen something like this. The inner light itself must be bright enough and the right colour for this to happen.

The blue color is pretty cool. Mine glows purple, so I think it's normal.

Can't provide pics due to complications on my computer. I can promise though that it glows purple though. I'll try it out soon to see if it's turning blue.
