Why does everyone complain about a skylander beong so called "overpowered?"
I mean, dont you want them to be strong? Some of you will probably say "well they make the game to easy" well then DONT USE THAT ONE. And if overpowered is a reasonible reason to hate skylanders, that means that you would hate all giants because there a heck lot stronger than any overpowerful regular skylander. Why dosnt anyone complain about S2 Hex? Her Wow Pow Power does about 280 damage per hit. If your playing Giants, just switch the difficulty to hard!

in the wowpow thread, people complain about her
and i havent noticed people complain about characters being overpowered for the purpose of completing the game, only for PVP where balance can actually matter...however...local pvp should be about fun..not *****ing when you lose because you think theyre overpowered if/when online pvp comes out, then itll be a bit more legitimate to complain about balance. |

That's my thread. Anyway, I'm fine with overpowered Skylanders. For people who don't like them, you could just go on nightmare mode. |

yeah "overpowered" only seems to come up in terms of PVP. This isn't Diablo where online PVP is a major part of the experienc for many people and has lots of rules about which skills and items are allowed.
Skylanders are designed to beat the monsters in the story, they clearly are not balanced against each other. Any skill that targets a wide area, or multiple targets becomes useless in PVP where there is only a single target, and conversely guys strong against a large single opponent can be weak vs. large numbers of monsters (Ignitor anyone?)

Well I do believe some people who complain about "overpowered" are talking about how they rip through single-player so easily, that they want a more challenging experience. And, truth be told, I didn't find Nightmare that challenging, except sometimes for the group fights and ambushes. When a group includes multiple guys who can kill you in one or two hits, it suddenly gets hard, LOL! It's easy enough to say "If you don't like that so-and-so is overpowered, then don't play him!", but these gus cost money, and upgrading Mr. Overpowered is still something to accomplish. And if he's completely upgraded, putting him aside still feels like a waste of money and the work put in.
Don't get me wrong though, I'm of the "Who cares if he's overpowered" camp. And nobody get on me about using "he", LOL! I'm quite aware there are female characters, and they could be overpowered - hell, Stealth Elf is widely considered the most powerful character in SSA - but the odds say most if not all of the overpowered characters are male.

omg niceguy1 said 'he' isnt he aware that there are female characters!?
on a more serious note, i agree with pretty much everything you said, the game itself even on nightmare isnt particularly difficult, the only way to make the game difficult is to put handicaps on yourself by choosing weak characters or choosing bad upgrade paths/using low level characters etc etc. |
