The new swap force characters have these new "movement types" on their lower half.

WashBuckler can Climb
MagnaCharge has Speed
Blast Zone has Rocket

The interview video from that press conference mentioned something about Jumping and others too.

How many of these movement types are there? 4? 8? 16?

I'd like to know the minimum number of Swap Force characters I need to get everywhere in the game.
Also, i wonder if older characters can get to these areas at all. Spyro can fly, so can he use Blast Zone's rocket gates, for example?

I remember them saying
Climb
Speed
Jumping
Rocket/Flying
Digging
And possibly teleporting
So I would assume there would be 8, meaning 2 for each type

I'm guessing 8. They have 16 Swap Force toons coming out and I'd guess it's 2 of each element and movement type...again just a guess though. If it is only like four then you'd really only need to get two additional Swap Force toons to unlock everything. I'm still going with 8. Maybe we'll find out this weekend when Toy Fair officially kicks off.

@ Kiroq there might be stealth if stink bomb's mask icon is used.

Climbing (from Wash Buckler's icon)
Flying/blasting (from Blast Zone's icon)

Bouncing
Digging

best guesses from other icons:
Stealth/sneaking (from Stink Bomb's icon)
Teleporting/shifting (from Night Shift's icon)
Skating?/sliding? - pure speculation based on Freeze Blade's feet

I'm going to go with 8 Swap Zone variations as well, with 2 Swaplanders for all 8 types.

It was said 8 in some interview. Argh, trying to remember where..
