Playing Pokemon: The Trading Card Game

There are five different types of cards used in Pokemon. They are:
Pokemon: These cards are used in battle
Trainer: One-time use cards for bonuses and special effects
Energy: The life blood of your Pokemon, used to charge Pokemon cards for attack
Stadium: Lasting effects on game play, remain in play until a new Stadium card is put into play
Supporter: Same use as trainer cards but players are restricted to one per turn

When starting play, the first step is for you and your opponent to shuffle the decks and each draw seven cards. If you have any Pokemon card types in your hand, place one down as your active battler and up to five Pokemon card types on-deck. Now place six cards from your deck aside as Prize cards.

Flip a coin to see who goes first. At the start of each turn, draw a card, then prepare for battle. This is done by adding Pokemon to your reserve (up to five), use energy cards on your active Pokemon (one per turn), activate trainer, supporter and stadium cards. You can also switch out Pokemon once per turn.

After preparing for battle, the next action is attacking your opponent. If your Pokemon has enough energy to use a move, use this on your opponent's Pokemon. Make sure to check your opponent's strength and weaknesses when calculating damage. Use counters on the Pokemon to keep track of damage; once the damage exceeds the Pokemon's HP, the creature is removed from play and the victor obtains one of the opponent's Prize cards.

Different status effects can befall a Pokemon type card:
Burned Pokemon take two damage after each turn if a flipped coin lands on tails.
Confused Pokemon deal damage normally when a flipped coin lands on heads, but takes three damage if the coin lands on tails.
Asleep Pokemon are unable to attack until the player's flipped coin lands on heads. Can only be attempted once per turn.
Paralyzed Pokemon are unable to attack or retreat until the player's next turn.
Poisoned Pokemon take one point of damage at the end of each turn.

In order to win the game, a player must either collect all the Prize cards from his opponent or knock out all of her opponents available Pokemon. The game will also end if his opponent runs out of cards in her deck.

Tips & Warnings
There are several expansions to the main Pokemon game. Mix and match cards to create the strongest deck. Don't fill your deck with all Pokemon of the same type, this will leave you vulnerable if your opponent has resistance against your battlers. Once basic play is mastered, move on to expert play, and eventually tournament play.

So basically the point is seeing as giants was shorter and easier than ssa this is the trend we will see in future games thanks to activision wanting to make a sickening amount of money and releasing games as quickly as possible so people don't realise it's going to be the same old routine in the same old skylands with the only difference being a chompie with a wart on its head or kaos with a new tattoo.
I wouldn't get your hopes up of this new mega amazing game because its not going to happen, the quicker they try to release the next 1 will give them less time to think it through and get it right.
