With Christmas now done and over my family now has a whopping 5 portals with a likely 6th as my daughter has stated she wants to buy the battlegrounds starter with her Christmas money. For SSA It worked well enough to just leave the one portal we had on the entertainment center next to the PS3, but now I can't see that working especially with the new wired ones (Wires everywhere! I can't stand it, it looks so messy!) So they need a new home to live in while they are not being used. My first idea was to use the SSA carry case to store them in (The one with the domed top) because it looks like you could actually line up a few in there very neatly, but I was just wondering if anyone here had any other good ideas before I cleared the bag out and bought new storage for the SSA figures?

The wireless portal works for Skylanders Giants as well.

Out of curiosity, do you even utilize 5 at any given time? I have 6 portals as well (Xbox 360, Wii/Wii-U regular, Wii/Wii-U GitD, 2 DS and iOS) but only 2 (Wii-U for the kids and Xbox 360 in the living room) are actively hooked up and one 1 of those 2 get used regularly. In any case, I guess it would depend on how your TV and consoles are setup and configured. For the kids' gaming TV we just have the Wii-U portal sitting on top of the subwoofer and they bring it closer to them when they play and put it back when they're done.

Those wireless portals that work great, are going to be sucked dry faster than they were in the first game. Why? Those Lightcore figures and Giants that light up, use up more power. Thus, if you're running them on a wireless portal, the batteries will run low quicker.

My neighbbor was going through 9 batteries a week during his playthrough of the first game. Now he never looks at his wireless portal again, now that he has a portal from Giants.

Just eBay what's left after you pick out the ones you want. Portals go for a surprising amount of money. Make sure to keep one of the newer wired portals, since those work with all systems, and hang onto a 3DS one and the BlueTooth one from Battlegrounds. Those aside, you should be fine to make some cash, especially on the wireless portals. Those are expensive nowadays.

The Glow in the Dark Portal is a problem due to glitches.

Yes, I have a TV stand, but it's a tight fit with all the consoles we have hooked up. I suppose The wii and PS3 are able to share a portal correct? The 360 needs to use it's own portal. We also dock the 3DS's on the stand. I could put two of the portals away as back ups and no I don't want to display them (basically I don't want them plugged into the console when no one is play skylanders) I was just wondering if anyone had any ideas on what to put them in when they weren't being used.


I'm just going to keep them like this for now.

Umm, I didn't say anything about displaying anything...
