Hey folks,

Anyone know if the Wii U version is compatible with the Xbox 360 wired portal? I've looked around everywhere online to try and find an answer, and have come up dry.

I'd love to be able to just pick up the game itself on ebay, rather than buy the starter set again (which I already got on the 360) and end up with yet another Tree Rex/Jet Vac/Cynder.

I can test this later tonight to make sure but I'm going to guess it isn't because the original XBox 360 portal didn't work with the other systems. The Wii and Wii U portals are inter-changeable so it stands to reason that there still won't be any cross compatibility with the XBox 360.

Or buy the ios pack that come with a wired portal and different figures.

Oh, there's a thought... I did buy the iOS starter pack as well, but haven't had a chance to play around with it. Can anyone confirm this portal would work with the Wii U?

Going by the compatibility patterns observed so far, I imagine the PC/Mac version's portal will work with the Wii U version fine as it does with all versions of both games, whereas the Xbox portal will only work with Xbox versions of either game as before.

I saw a post in Miiverse where someone posted a screenshot of their game not accepting the XBox portal on the Wii U. Most every other portal (Wii, PS3 and 3DS/iOS with USB cable) should work on the Wii U

I'd like to say I'm surprised, but I'm pretty sure Microsoft does something crazy with 360 accessories to ensure they only work on that platform. I remember trying to use the 360 camera on my computer as a webcam, and as soon as I plugged it in, my computer bluescreened, lol.

By the way, for the record...

I can (finally) confirm that the iOS portal, when connected via USB, works perfectly with the Wii U version of the game.
