Glow in the Dark Portals for Wii U? [CLOSED]

Since all of the portals for Giants are now USB what are the chances of them being universal between systems? I'd love to pick up a Glow-in-the-Dark portal from Walmart but they don't have a Wii U version. Has anyone tested one of the Glow-in-the-Dark portals from another system (Xbox 360, PS3 or Wii) on a Wii U (GameMaster78, I'm looking at you). It makes sense that the Wii version would at least work but I'd love to hear some first hand experience before buying one.

They will work as the manual for the Wii GitD Starter pack shows how to connect it to Wii and Wii U! So the USB portals will work on Wii U

Just make sure not to get an Xbox 360 one, that one only works on an Xbox 360.

Nope, it's to do with Microsofts strange policy on USB devices. It's kind of like how Microsoft will only let you use their hard drives, and their wireless adapters ETC.
