Can you play the whole game of Skylanders Giants on the Wii U gampepad?

I remember seeing a video of it working in debug mode, but every single article states that it does not support off tv play. So anyone with the game. Can you play it all on the gamepad?

I been playing it at the Wii U (UK) tour over the weekend and YES you can play the whole game on the Gamepad but ONLY IN SINGLE PLAYER. Although I did not test what would happen if you added another controller while on Off-TV play. I did notice that the "Fix broken Toy" option was missing from the Main Menu, but that might just be missing from the pre-release version.

Thanks Buzz. I already have it on the 360 but my girlfriend wants it on the Wii U so she can play it while I play something else on my 360.

Anyone have the Wii U version of the game yet? I have been playing it but all of the Cinematics don't have any sound but the rest of the game does. I really hope that this is an issue that everyone is having and that they will fix it soon. Anyone else having this issue?

I am getting the Wii U version on Black Friday, but I am getting the Wii U itself today!!

@ OpalOsprey - How are you connecting your Wii U? HDMI? Analog? I have the Wii U version and cinematic audio works fine for me. If it's HDMI, I suggest trying a different cable or a different HDMI port on your TV.

zookinator, are you aware of any price deals for the Wii U version on Black Friday?

^ Okay, I'll try that, thanks =). All of the other audio works fine except for the movies/cutscenes. I am using a different HDMI cable than the one that came with the Wii U since that one was too short so maybe that's why? It is a high speed cable and it is much better quality than the one that comes with the Wii U. Are you using HDMI also, and if so, is it the cable that came with the Wii U? Thanks a lot for your help.

Don't you have the option, with the Wii U, to play with the S:SA portal??

I'm using the cable that came with the Wii U. Generally HDMI cables will either work or they won't but it's worth trying to replace since it's a pretty easy troubleshooting step. You mentioned that your TV only has a single HDMI port. Are there any other TVs in the house you can try? I really don't think it's an issue with your game itself.

Also, did you check the settings if there were any audio settings specific to the cinematics/cut scenes?

My sister works at GameStop, so she gets a 15% discount! But sadly, she has to be there for the discount to be used. I'm sure there are some Black Friday deals that will lower the price even more! Maybe I could ask my sister about it...

You know, unless you have additional info, all I see on the ad is that the regular Wii version is definitely included in that sale. It doesn't really state anything about what (if any) other systems will be in there, I believe.
