Toys in the UK - Wave 2 Preorder [CLOSED]

The US may have Wave 2 already but we've still got to wait, so far the only place I can see offering preorders for Wave 2 (and beyond it seems) is I Want I Want.

The toys due out in wave 2 are:

Hot Head
Flashwing
Sprocket
LightCore Jet-Vac
Bash
Double Trouble
Drill Sergeant
Flameslinger
Gill Grunt
Hex
Sonic Boom
Stump Smash

There's also going to be two new triple packs made of:

Sonic Boom, Sprocket and Stump Smash
Gill Grunt, Flashwing and Double Trouble

No set date for Wave 2 yet but I would expect Activision would want them out here by the time the Wii U version launches at the end of November.

They've also increased their prices since they originally listed them too.

Originally it was:

Series 2 = £8.99 (now £9.99)
LightCore = £11.99 (thankfully still £11.99)
Giants = £14.99 (now £16.99)

It's bad enough that Series 2 are being listed at £8.99 rather than the £7.99 that most Series 1 figures were priced at, but £11.99 and £16.99 for LC and Giants respectively is overpriced imo. LC should be £9.99 and Giants the original price of £14.99.

I feel awful for the prices you need to pay in the UK now. Actually started shedding a tear. That's almost as bad as how us Aussies formerly needed to pay so much for the standards. Those Giants... Even the original £14.99 seemed overpriced, IMO.

I'm pretty certain IwantIwant have free shipping so that could balance out the price hike. There are a few of us UK forum users who are getting figures from the supplier and should be able to do deals on figure prices. I'll not say anything else on this matter in public as it could be seen to be advertising.

Also, in case anyone cares, the website that dark linked to is also selling SSA characters for £3, good for me since I didn't buy some of the non-S2 characters.

No one knows yet, but most likely Tesco since they got Target's exclusives for SSA.

i've spoken to someone at tesco head office and they confirmed that they would be getting an exclusive but were not willing to say which character

Yeah, I think it's safe to assume that it is Granite Crusher - we know the exclusives for all the other wave 1 variants in the UK besides him.

Shoooooooooooot that's way overpriced. This game will turn out more expensive than the original, which in on itself was far too pricey.

It's also a double whammy since the game seems to be the exact same thing as the original, with little gameplay changes. Sad, really.

I'm totally out of the loop - what does Granite Crusher look like?

I take it this is the only place offering up figures online, and that hopefully retailers will be getting them in stock for release?

Really? I've found that buying the three new giants + 3 new Landers with the discount comes to £73.33 while on the Iwant site, it comes to about £80.94

Depends on the makeup of your order really as he's got £5 postage, the free postage and guaranteed delivery on the release date still make iwantiwant a good choice. t7gga's site says they won't be able to post them before release day and it'll still take three to five working days to get to you which is approaching a week after launch.

Just made an order through the site. Cheers t7gga. I would much rather pay slightly more to an independent retailer who would actually be able to answer any questions I had and hopefully would store the figures so that they do not arrive to me damaged.

So they've finally added some Skylanders Giants merchandise.

Here's the link for anyone interested, but for £30 (including postage) I don't imagine this being a huge seller.

Also I asked the Toys R Us facebook page when they'd be adding the figures to the site and I got a reply saying "thanks for your post, we will be adding these figures on our web site later this month. Thanks, Joanne". Oh really!? Its not like the game comes out in a week or anything.

Why is Toys R Us UK so bad?

You actually got a reply from TRU UK?! They've spent ages ignoring my queries. I've already decided TRU is only getting money from me for their exclusives.

Craig from Collier's Wood is usually very good, but has not yet called me to confirm I can preorder my 3DS Starter pack from him. When exactly was he (or a member of his team) going to do this? It's been nearly 6 weeks since my name and number went into the book of preorders and the game is out next week.

I was suprised too as they actually responded in 10 minutes. I almost fainted in shock.

I can only hope that he went to a store/job that will appreciate him. He was the only reason I would travel back and forth to Collier's Wood and he deserved a better job.

I'll be hitting at least two TRUs on launch weekend, there'll be L-Bouncers at least one of them it's useless on information on Skylanders but I wouldn't be leaving without figures.

Obvious and possibly stupid post BUT could someone make it well known when/if Granite Crusher actually becomes available PLEASE!!! If in store I can get family to pick it up or I can buy online and get a mate to ship it. Australia is not getting the G-Crusher...IMHO I think he's the coolest variant yet.

I think it's safe to assume Granite Crusher will come out on release day. Where you'll be able to get it (like, which Tesco's will and won't stock them day 1) is another question.

sorry ive recently moved and i still need to locate the local tesco to find granite crusher then if hes confirmed there, i know where the toys r us is so i can get the legendaries, where else should i also be looking for variants? ive preordered the glow in the dark set from gamestation by the way. but right now i cant figure out whats missing, or is that all the UK variants we know of so far?

Awesome, just ordered Crusher, S2 Whirlwind and LC Drobot - I'm now beginning to look forwards to this more than I should be.

This is so true. What makes it worse at my local branch, is that you have a classic case of 'What we have out is all we have'. Then, when you ask for another staff member, they find them at the back, waiting to be put out.

As some people mayknow, IwantIwant is the retail part of one of the Skylanders distributors.

I spoke to them yesterday about our pre-order for figures and they told me they already had them in stock but obviously can't send them out yet.

We should be getting our pre-order Weds/Thurs smilie

Will be going to TRU on Friday hoping to get a Legendary Bouncer. Is it normal for the Legendary ones to cost more? I got my Legendary Skylanders late in the cycle so only paid 'normal' price.

That's what I thought. Toys R Us are doing the Battle Pack for £24.99. That's a provisional price as they're waiting to see what the competitors do price wise.
