Though if you want an answer, I'd say pick the path that upgrades his shell spin attack. Gives him a variety of fun attacks to use, and makes him breeze through most of the time attack challenges if you're going for three stars on each level.

Eye of The Storm. Wind Master is worse in both modes. Eye of The Storm is probably the most viable Jack-of-all-trades character and the best Air Elemental once you get good at using him.

The only one that would be a peer to Warnado as a "jack of all trades" character would be Megadozer Drill Sergeant. Eye of the storm is much better.
