S: SA = Skylanders: Spyro's Adventure. heh heh heh. Well, in which console you're playing and completed:
PlayStation 3, Xbox 360, Wii, PC (Win Mac) or 3DS. And:
Why did you choose that console?
Why is it easy for you but not for others?
Earned all trophies / achievements / whatever call for the Wii and 3DS?

The wii.
It's the only console that I have that I can get the game for. |

Wii.
I don't have a 3DS yet, or a PS3, and I don't like PC games. I have an Xbox360 but my mom is always playing on it so I would hardly get a chance to play it if I got it on that console.

Wii for the console edition... Though it is my least favorite... But hey, I'm a purist so sue me. When we get a new computer I will probably switch to the PC version.
3DS is my favorite version though, it makes the other ones rubbish in comparison! |

I'm playing Spyro's Adventure on Xbox 360 and 3DS. I own a PC and all the current generation of consoles, but I chose to purchase the 360 version because:
Quote:
The 3DS version is great, but lacking on replay value. It's a platformer and I can totally understand, especially with the timed stages, where players will have some difficulty beating some of the later levels. Couple that with how the camera moves erratically at times and getting use to the perception of depth if you use 3D and you'll find yourself unknowingly plunging to your death on more than a few occasions while the clock mercilessly and continually ticks away to you eventually restarting the level. As for the console versions and without commenting on the Wii version, which I know there are many changes, but haven't actually played, I don't really get why some people find this game to be difficult, lack of skill on their part I suppose or perhaps extreme lack of patience and they're just too eager to mash their way through situations, I dunno. Quote:
I've done all there is to do in the 3DS version and for 360, I was able to get all the achievements using only my base characters including defeating Kaos's final stage without swapping characters.

Less true words have never been spoken. The content is almost exactly the same as the console version if you level all your characters on it. |

@Nibelilt: I didn't think I'd need to justify my statement...especially to someone who has played both the console and the 3DS versions, but let's break it down...
"The 3DS version is great," - It is, I love me some platforming and it's actually difficult at times compared to the cakewalk that is the console versions...Wii version excluded since I haven't played that version to know the difference. "but lacking on replay value." - There really isn't any replay value to the game. Once you beat the game, there's nothing to do...I guess unless you want to just play time trials for better times. In the 3DS version, each character has 1 progression path, and only levels carry over to the console version, nothing else. There's really no incentive to continue playing it after you're done...it's not like anything changes. In the console versions:
In the 3DS version:
...I still think the 3DS version is great, but yea, I stand by my previous statement. It totally lacks replay value...there's just no point to replaying it.

It doesn't translate to more playtime, however.

You also missed for the 3DS version:
You don't go and complain that in Super Mario 64 there's nothing to do after collecting all the Stars. |

It is true, I haven't played Super Mario 64 since I picked up every last coin I could in every stage back in the N64 days. Thing is though, I'm not complaining, Spyro's Adventure for the 3DS is a great game, it simply lacks replay value when compared to the console versions. Meaning, there's no reason to replay it after it's completed...significantly less than Super Mario 64. Also, I'm assuming you're talking about getting money from performing Heroic Challenges on the Wii version because you can't do that on the non-Nintendo versions save for a glitch that awards you 10 or 100 coins in Voodood's Heroic Challenge.

I didn't even know you couldn't use Hidden Treasure in Heroics out of Wii! Still, Hidden Treasure by itself is a huge exploit, even on PSC360. It awards you 500 Gold whenever you want just for buying the pack!
Maybe I just like the 3DS version better because I always hated dungeon crawlers and always loved platformers. At least this topic won't turn into a huge argument, anyway. I admit that I would wholeheartedly agree the console edition had far more replayability, if only it had online multiplayer, even though I like the 3DS versions better anyway. The genre just isn't interesting without it. |
