Anyone else use theirs up in the Ruins? I was beginning to think it was infinite..almost had all powers for the 30 skylanders we have.

Yes I have the wii and let me tell you that there is a way to fix it. First, you must be in 2 player mode. YOU MUST make sure the treasure chest is near someone you can talk too!!!! Then one person talks to the guy while one person is near the chest and opens while the other person is talking to the guy. This should work so good luck.

On the Wii, it is infinite. Just talk to an NPC, and it'll respawn in the same place.

For maximum efficiency, spawn it near Callie (take it off the portal, then back on). She's a lot closer to it than Persephone (the place a lot of people choose to spawn it), plus some times Hugo walks by so you occasionally don't even have to move.

I had it at the bottom of the stairs and I would talk to the Gillman.

This is what I've been doing but now it says "sorry but this object had been used up in this level"...maybe not an exact quote but something to that effect.
