so now that i got all 37, i started doing heroic challenges.
i heard so many horror story's about the purple chompies one, and had been mentally preparing myself for having to reset a few of my characters,
but now that i tryed it, it isnt hard at all.
now i just started, so i havnt played each skylander threw it yet, but for the 11 dragons it all took less then 8 tryes to beat it.
im on the 360, dos that make a difference?
i like to think of myself as a pretty good gamer, but surely theres people on here better then me (im mostly into RPG)

also, not even going to talk about zaps or double troubles, they are just as easy as the rest of them in my opinion

Because not everyone knows you can let the purple chompies latch onto you.

It can be hard with some upgraded Skylanders. Ghost Roaster has an upgrade that leaves ghosts floating around to kill enemies after you kill others.

General opinion is this challenge is easiest on the wii. Personally the only one I have encountered I just could not win the challenge with is Eruptor. It also helps to take the challenges before buying movesets.

My guess is that a lot of people are button mashers and that's not a good strategy with the Purple Chompie challenge. You need to be careful when you are attacking, especially with ranged attacks.

Chop Chop's Shield Bash came in handy for many of the dont break this or kill that challenges. The shield bash does not go very far like his sword or other attacks from other skylanders. Work with skylanders that have an attack with small range like Dino rang's boomerang, where you get the ability to control it. Another one would be whale shell's A,A,B ability on the Wii, the one attack where he his mace starts to spin and you walk around. Two other ones could be lightning rod's thunder/lightning attack or warnado's spin attack. But there could be more out there. First start with chop chop and go from there. Good luck!

Upgraded characters its harder.

And letting them latch on isn't the best either, because you can still kill them trying to kill others.
Just learn the pattern and its not so bad.

It's only hard on certain characters. I struggled with my Golden Frenzy Trigger Happy (yes I went Golden Frenzy, deal with it). It was really tough with him... I must have tried over 20 times. I also found that slow characters can be difficult unless you've done the other speed heroics. Once you know your way around a lot of Skylanders will win this first time... but depending which Skylander it is and how upgraded they are it can be fairly easy or tear-your-hair-out hard.

TIP: If you let all the purple chompies gather around you and kill them all with one shot it counts as only offing 1.

I got completely surrounded with Voodood and couldn't move. One axe swiped took out at least 3 purples but I didn't fail

On a similar note, I've noticed that if you kill your last green chompies at the same time as some purples or after killing the purples but before the game aknowledges the purple kill it still counts as a win... on the PS3 at least.

I did this Heroic Challenge with fully upgraded Boomer and didn't fail. (Dynamite Path)
