I, like many of you have unfortunately experienced the game killing glitch without a fix between Chapters 20/21 on the Wii version and am officially screwed and will have to start over. I know that even though I get all of my Skylanders at the same level they won't log in on my new save file unless I completely delete my original and they all revert back to level 1. So first, any other ideas? Second, for those of you that have done it did you just start a second file but keep the original in hopes that we get some kind of patch or just wipe everything out and start completely over. Third, did you even bother collecting anything (hats, soul gems etc..) or did you just race through the game and just do the last couple of boards because you "have" all that stuff in another file? Lastly, did you do all of the heroic challenges, finish stars, collect all items and do as much as you could on that original file or did you do it on the new save file. Any thoughts would be welcome.

1. You have to start a new save
2. There's no point, it's a Wii game so even if it did get patched some time in the future you could complete the game quicker.
3. There's not really much point in doing all the Heroic Challenges - the completion of Heroic challenges is on the toy so that'll be carried onto you're new save.

This is not true, you only need to change their ownership, they don't get reset from that. I do it all the time to unlock heroics with my neighbour's son's Skylanders.

Getting a patch on the Wii? Pffftth hahah.

I just lucked out and continued on until recently when I found out about the glitch. I guess your best option would be to just delete that file. No sense in saving it, even if you have all the blue fairies and stuff. Hopefully you didn't get too far in doing heroic challenges.

Best thing to do is just delete, and reset all characters, starting at 1 unless you want to keep their abilities. I'm not sure, but you MIGHT be able to get them to unlock the Heroic Challenges even if they don't belong to you.

But if I get rid of and delete the original save will I re-add all my characters and they revert back to level 1 or will they come in at the level they were at? I still have to recollect all of the soul gems, legendary treasure etc... then it will show up again?

How do you do that? What's the ramifications?

I will say it again: You don't need to reset them to level 1 if you don't want to. There is an option to "Change Ownership" which just makes the Skylander yours, unlocks the Heroic Challange and adds that Skylander to your collection. It does not reset their level or upgrades or money or even the hat they are wearing.

The stats on your figures are located on the figures including levels, heroic challenges, chosen paths and money. It is completely independent of the save file. If you start a new game just go to the screen where you transfer ownership DO NOT reset the characters unless you want to. You will play throught the original levels with stronger characters but this might also be fun.

This glitch guarantees you have to start a new game but deffinately does not mean you have lost data gained on your skylanders

Oh yeah I completely forgot about change ownership. So, you didn't really loose much of anything.

I am so glad I found out about the glitch from this before I let it happen to me. I think I would have quit the game if this had happened to me.

Between chapters 20 and 21, there's a glitch where if you don't go straight into chapter 21, then the weapon master won't talk to you and you can't enter chapter 21.
To avoid it, just enter chapter 21 when he asks you if you want to go (immediently after chapter 20)
