Hi gus. I've been on this forum daily for weeks now. I've only just crated an account. I'm 4 skylanders Ay from having my sons collection full collection. So on my travels to find some I went to smiths toy store. I was told camo, warnado and whamshell have been delayed. He gentleman in the store also told me that there will be 8 new skylanders out by the end of may, start of June. He said there would be one per element.

I wouldn't put what he said at he back of your head just yet as we have already seen 2 new skylanders. I just didn't think they would be out so quick.

What are the 2 new skylanders? When Giants comes out there will be 8 new ones but not by the end of may. This guy was obviously an idiot.

He sounded pretty sure to me. The guy with the potion and the bird guy.

He's probably referring to Vac Eagle and Alchemist, 2 of the 8 new Skylanders for Giants (Actually, the only 2 we know of right now). I don't see them putting the new ones out this early for fear of people complaining they can't use them on Adventure.


It seems like a lot of retailers were told they were delayed or not out yet, but a lot of members have seen them at Walmart and gamestop stores. Gamestop.com usually has them in stock..if they're not actually right now!

All 32 regular characters are out. There are also legendaries (4) a blue bash, and a handful of other specialty painted characters. Depending on where you live, you may have trouble finding camo/warnado and wham shell. Other countries have trouble finding even earlier released characters.

Well he was pretty sure there was a new skylanders coming out for each element. I Said to him "yeah with giants?" and he said no these will be out before giants. In the next few months. It wasn't just ur generic toy store worker. He sounded in the know about the wole skylanders thing. Knew every character and adventure pack.

Well, there are 4 "Sidekick" characters coming out. They're smaller (probably about the size of the magic items) but they're only available from Frito-Lay chip packs.

Hmm..he must be mistaken. There's only the 37 currently released figures (32 +4 Legends +1 Dark Spyro) and that's it..or we would have known about it a long time ago. Giants is going to have 8 Giants and 8 new Skylanders (one of each for each element)

I'm going to have to agree with everyone else here, A-Naff. The regular 32 skylanders, a blue Bash, a Legendary version of Trigger Happy, Bash, Spyro, and Chop Chop, along with the 3DS exclusive (as of now?) Dark Spyro are all that will be compatible with Spyro's Adventure.

Now with Giants, we know there will be 8 Giants (one for each element -- we have seem the Life Giant, Tree Rex) and (possibly?) 8 more skylanders. We know of Vac Eagle (Air element) and Alchemist (Magic element?). There will be old skylanders that will have a different pose that will come with the Giants waves as well. If there's more for Giants, I haven't heard about it.

The gent I was speaking to said that the 8 skylanders that are coming with giants are coming out In the next few months.

I wonder if he got his timeline a little mixed up? I work in retail management myself, in a bookstore, and we are already ordering our Christmas gifts. In fact it's a bit late, and some of the items I wanted for my store have already sold out for the season!

If he carries Skylanders products, he may have gotten a sneak preview of Giants and placed orders, but be confused about when they will actually be coming out.

I'm still praying that GameStop will be offering preorders on Giants figures, so that I can spend my time playing/enjoying the game, not chasing new characters!

Are you from the UK? Because only Dragon's Peak and Wham-Shell haven't been released yet(Camo and Warnado have been found in Tesco and are on the Tesco website right now). Judging by what happened in the US, Wham-Shell should be here pretty soon after Camo and Warnado, but Dragons Peak is unknown-it should have already been released.

Just because he sounded sure doesnt mean he is right. Months ago a gamestop employee swore to god dragons peak was out but the only place to get it was bestbuy in TN. This was in like January or early Feb. The point is its really easy to get your info mixed up when you are excited and have your hopes up

My local Best Buy has had pictures of Alchemist up as being an avaiable magic type skylander since before wave 4 came out. The answer is simple sometimes these guys that think they know do not. There is no available in game data for other skylanders other than the sidekicks who are items. It also does not make sense that TFB would be releasing these skylanders months before the game they can be played in is released. I also had a toys r us associate in january in forming me that a mysterious skylander would be included in a new adventure pack simply called the mountain.

you know. actually. it makes sense that theyd release figures for a game thats not out yet. just think of how many people would buy them JUST to have them for when the game comes out? the figures are cool by themself without the game.. so yea... maybe that. i could see them releasing some of the new ones before the game is out..

oh and hasbro did a similar thing with these things called transformers bot shots, its a little figure you play a crash into game, but has an online game thats suppose to be the real cool thing, but they released figures in early april, and their game doesnt go live till sometime in may..

Hmm if u think about it that could cut back on scalpers. Parents wouldnt b rushing out to get these figures knowing their kids cant even play with them yet. Or maybe they will have some dlc that will put the new charectors data into the first game so the new ones can b used. Not very likely but that would b cool

there wont be any DLC for skylander spyros adventure. the game doesnt have that built in. it has no online ability at all. that why people who experience glitches havent had them fixed , because of just that reason, no patch, no dlc. they would have to release another disc with the patches/content, which could happen...

Well same concept, all i'm saying is that they should find a way to get the new ones into the old game. Whether its dlc or another disc i think it should b free or really cheap seeing as we would have already spent our money on the figures

Since when did a game have to be able to have DLC to be able to receive patches? I can think of a few games on my PS3 that don't have any DLC but have had OTA software patches via the PSN. I seriously doubt we'd have to receive an entirely new disc to be able to get a patch.

Wii would require a disc - if no update is readily possible for Wii, then it won't happen for other consoles, unfortunately.

Ah, finally, a reasonable explanation as to why folks believe that we'll never see patches. Thank you for pointing this out, I'd have never guessed as our Wii isn't used for much more than a dust collector lately.

The way i see it its too bad for the wii users. I can think of a couple games that have had console exclusive content. Just because one console suffers shouldnt mean the others do too. Doesnt the wii have a shop chanel for this type of thing? I wouldnt know cause i rarely use my wii

There's been updates for things like the Wii Channel, but I don't ever remember them having the ability to update a game. There's probably limits on what sorts of things the Wii's Shop Channel can send out to the console, as well as the actual game.

Really, most of the bad things seem to be happening on the other consoles. We can get around the Weapons Master glitch, and the nerfed characters aren't that big of a deal. But not being able to finish a character's Heroic Challenge and not "technically" being able to fully complete the game is kind of a big deal.

The Wii had a problem like this earlier too. Nintendo's big release of Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword had a game breaking glitch as well. YOu would have to start the game all over and that was like 7 hours into the game. Nintendo released a "patch" through the Shop Channel that just brought your current game right before the glitch occurred so you can continue to play through the game successfully. I don't think Nintendo will ever release a patch for the Wii because it is not made by Nintendo. I usually only see Nintendo games in the Shop with another big brand Sega. They also endorse small companies. Activision seems like a competitor to them so they most likely will not partner up. Mario & Sonic have made a great leap in the franchises through the Olympic series. Activision doesn't have a HUGELY POPULAR franchise like Mario, Sonic, or Zelda. Activision only hugely popular series, even beating out Mario, is Call of Duty, which most of us know does not have a main character.

Soooooo hows it gonna connect to get said patch? ps3 and xbox 360 versions could be patched MAYBE Possibly but i dont believe it will happen. Itd take another disc to update it. Wii version couldnt be patched at all since nintendo doesnt do patches like that (currently) the 3ds is getting them soon tho.

The 3ds already has them. They patch the downloadable games a lot and they can and have put in loader fixes for cartridge games. The wii can do the same, but will they is the question? It would probably take some money from activision to all three console companies to put their patch up.

Xbox marketplace? Just cause a game doesnt have online stuff doesnt mean u cant download stuff for it. Same thing as buying another disc minus the disc, it would already b accessable on your harddrive.

Plenty of xbox games with no online funtionality gets patches. It rather sad that's the state that the game industry is in now. Release it now, patch it later.

When I grew up if a PC game was getting a patch it was for free new content. Not to fix a glaring bug.

Also I talked to Activision Rep at game stop, he said and quote:

"The New Skylanders that come with giants will not be released before the Giants game as to not cause confusion. They will be released and sold when the game comes out."

I asked him about the possibility of allowing pre-orders for the figures at Gamestop like how they do for games. They would get a decent idea of what to expect for the holiday season numbers wise and how it would cut down on the secondary market of skylanders. Activision loves it when they can cut down on the secondary market.

He said they are looking into pre-orders.
