I've seen several posts here that state certain players prefer to win the Heroic Challenges only with the Skylanders; no help from the extra parts of the adventure packs (i.e. Anvil Rain, Sparx, etc).

I was just curious: do those same players who refuse to use the help also upgrade their Skylanders through treasure found in gameplay ONLY, without any use of the treasure chest from the Pirate Seas adventure pack.

It seems like the same difference to me. I am of the personal opinion that: they give you the help as part of the game, why not use it anywhere, anytime. But, naturally, to each his own.

I don't hesitate to use the magic items. I don't have time to try the same heroic challenge over and over and over with the same figure.

For the life of me, none of my Magic Items work in my 360 version..

I always forget to use mine.... I guess i could of used the chest like 50 times now

@CynderFanatic: To answer your question, you are correct, I don't use any items. I've reset my game, all my characters and took them all through the available Heroic Challenges and I have not used any of the Adventure Pack items in my game at all besides the first time on the overworld just to make sure they work. In regards to the challenges, they're really not all that difficult to do. I also haven't reused the Adventure Packs themselves in order to item crash/clear out enemies at any point...it has never even come close to that. I personally consider using items cheating, but I'm certainly not judging anyone else's use of them, they're just not for me.

I should clarify that Double Troubles challenge is the only one that I have used items on. Drobots is tough, but doable. Zaps can be tough with some characters, but you get so much time it isn't too bad. The others are cake.

I could see Double Trouble's challenge with characters like Eruptor, where even reset at level 1, the lava lobs prefer to home in on vases and stuff instead of goblins. Otherwise, I think the game is way too easy without the items. =[

I prefer to do the Heroic Challenges with no magic items. I'm a little too lazy to put them on the Portal and I just don't really find them as useful as some members here manage to do. (You guys are lucky.)

The only Challenges I could see myself using items on are either Zap's or Double Trouble's. They're just such a headache with certain characters and I don't always have enough patience to play them over and over again.
