I bought the Frito Lay Skylanders pack and there is a code in it to unlock the Runes Run minigame online.

It is pretty cool and I got 18th on my first try. None of my 'friends' have played it yet so I figured I better spread the news.

You have to buy a Frito Lay variety pack and the code is on a card mixed in with the chips. Do yourself a favor and throw away the MSG containing chips. The only clean ones are Plain Potato, Plain Fritos, and Plain Sunchips. You also get a $1 off coupon or a chance to win a special Stump Smash, etc. but you can do that over the phone by calling an 800 or 866 number. See the main forum for more details if you haven't already.

The guy in the online game says Runes Run is 'coming soon' so I suppose it will be opened up for free later but if you are like me you want to try it now!

Nice! I got 3rd when I tried it..and that was like a few days after the promo.

Actually though, we already talked about it here and It seems that just the Walmart $1 off bag should unlock the game. The one with WIN on it gives you a chance for a random figure, and the one with the picture of Flocked Stump Smash is the chance for said Stumpy.

That offer is only available in the US

Oh and I don't know why people think MSG is so bad for you... like anything it can be bad in large amounts but MSG is processed by the body in exactly the same way as glutamate which occurs narurally in all sorts of foods including tomatoes, mushrooms and cheese.

Basically, you start from the Molekin in the lower left area of the Mainland, and then follow the markers up to the finish line in the upper left. I think you have about a minute to do it, and you usually end with some seconds left over. Doesn't yield a ton of gems/coins though.

Landerfan2012 - it's actually very easy - I don't even think I used the same email address to register the code as I have my universe account on. I think it used a browser cookie.

Anyway when you login after entering the code, arrows pop up showing you where to go and who to talk to for your first race.

I thought the coin yield was decent. Are gems collectable spyroflame0487?

What's the race like

Well it's funny because you run around the other people on the mainland doing whatever they're doing, just like the treasure hunt.

You have to touch little flags that appear and there are some powerups you can grab. It is a pretty quick event overall.

sounds sort of boring. not as much of a reason to buy chips then the skylanders sidekicks.

Well, see originally we had no idea there were THREE promotions. We knew there were Skylanders chips, so we found them. The someone found the WIN Bag, and someone else found the Flocked Stump Smash bag.

Does anyone have a spare code for the game? Can't buy them here =/

@Toyger: The code was supposed to be entered on the promotion website and your account was linked to it through that, but the promotion is now over..., a code for that would be useless now. There's still a chance they'll have it again in the future since that was only for Walmart...or maybe they'll just open it up for everyone eventually.

The free online game URL still seems active. I can step through it until i enter my code and it says its already been used. http://profile.skylanders.com/...walmart/agegate

@posreject: When I checked on the day the other 2 Skylanders promotions were ending, it said it was over. They all ended at the same time if I remember correctly. Maybe this means it'll go back up in a future promotion then? ...except maybe the older codes won't be honored anymore I'm guessing?

Is any one still able to play the game? I can't anymore. My code card says "offer expires 6/9/2012."
