Hi! I am doing Heroic Challenges and I can't get them. I put on a hat, but still. Any statigies? Glithes you have had?

When I do Whirl Wind's Challenge, The gate won't open. I deafeted all the guys. Please, help me.

Whirlwind's challenge drives me bonkers. I use Anvil Rain for that one with most Skylanders.

You can't get to the final pirate until you have defeated ALL the others. Are you sure you have gone to all the islands? You do have to double back to get to and from all the pirates. My daughter and I have done this on the Wii and have not experienced any glitches with the gate not opening. We have completed this challenge with all 30 of our characters. For the characters that don't have attacks that can successfully kill the pirates since they are elevated, use the pirate swords. Put them on when you arrive at the pirate's platform, immediately take it off when you successfully kill the pirate. Do this for all the pirates. That way you have the pirate swords for the entire challenge since you don't need to waste them running from island to island. Good luck!

Sorry...should have mentioned in my previous post above that you should make sure you are killing 8 pirates before you expect the final gate to open. The final pirate behind the gate is number 9. Happy hunting!

Okay I got a question, how do you use items during challenges?!

I can't seem to get them to work during challenges!

I'm not 100% sure this is true since I've never tried it but I've heard that items can only be used in the Wii version, they disabled their use in the PS360 version (which was made later) because it was considered to be cheating.

From a very basic standpoint, this was my strategy when I started:
1. Do the heroic challenges with someone fast and get to know the layout of the level well. This will help a lot when you have to run through them with slower characters
2. Do any Speed upgrading challenges first, as this will make doing the other challenges a little easier
3. Trie to do them before you upgrade your skylander fully... a lot of the upgrades can make certain challenges (Drobot's, Zap's, Double Trouble's, etc) more challenging, as you have to have precision.

having done 29 challenges on 29 skylanders, I know that everything is possible with every character... although some are quite challenging.

For the Whirlwind Pirates one, it is a lot easier with someone that can hit the pirates without bombs, but even without that it can be done. It just requires picking an efficient order and knowing how to use your skylander
