As a poster on the forums and constantly reading the same queries over and over again, I though this thread might serve as a first stop for new players/collectors or parents of the previously mentioned. Hopefully this thread will serve as a useful part of the forum, but please don’t get mad if you feel it is un-needed!

Q. What is Skylanders?
A. Skylanders is a video game that uses real life figures to unlock extra characters and items in the video game.


Q. What can I use the figures with?
A. All Skylander figures will work with all versions of Skylanders: Spyro’s Adventure with one exception. These items and characters can also be used on the webgame Skylanders: Spyro’s Universe and the upcoming iPhone/iPod game Skylanders Cloud Patrol. Currently this game is only available in the Canadian iTunes store


Q. What is the exception item?
A. The promotional item Volcanic Vault will not work on the 3DS or PC/Mac games.


Q. Where can I buy [insert Skylander name here]?
A. Try the official site for your region’s stockists, or ask the very nice people in the thread for your country.

Q. What are Silver and Gold Skylanders?
A. These are special hard to find variations of the Skylander figures. The characters are their regular colour in the game. The gold Skylanders are preloaded at Lv5 with approximately 2100 gold. These special figures can be found in both single character packs and also in triple packs. Here is the list of these special figures:

Silver:

A. Have a look over here about half way down the page you will find the icon codes


Q. What Skylanders come in which packs?
A. The majority of Skylanders come in Single packs, but to help you avoid having duplicates from buying Triple packs here is a list of all currently available Skylanders and how they are packaged.

Magic Skylanders:
