Not really sure what forum I should put this in, so here it is in Fandom. This is mostly a continuation of my Enter the Dragonfly topic "A Stupid Idea". If anyone could help remake EtD, please post here.

That would be good, but good luck ACTUALLY CONVINCING THE COMPANIES TO REMAKE IT. Very rarely are any video games ever "remade". The only ones I can think of at the top of my head are the first three Mario games, and maybe some Sonic games too. And of course the Pokemon games. The Spyro license isn't in any demand right now, nor will it ever be because it has been overshadowed by more popular franchises. Considering how obscure ETD is, it's almost like trying to get a remake of Action 52 sold to stores.

^I don't want to convince Check Six and Equinoxe to remake it. I was asking if regular people with certain talents/professions/skills can help out to remake it from scratch. Though that's probably not legal. I need to check. But what you just said, that's not what I meant.

Either way, it would be the ultimate challenge. It probably won't be done.

It might be possible to ROM hack the game and try to fix it up. I have no skills in this field, though. And if it's just a ROM hack I don't think it's illegal to distribute - as long as the people you distribute to legally own the game and you don't make any profit.

^ I was thinking about that at one point. Unfortunately, I know no one who can do that.

ROM Hacking a PS2/GCN game? Impossibru!
as for Zelda and StarFox they where highly successful games. And they where awesome.

^Why do you say that? Have you ever tried it to say that?
ExtremeSpyro Ripto Gems: 112

I never tried it, 1. the sizes are too big. 2. One can barely an N64 game even today. I seriously doubt GCN/PS2 hacks will come out. I say wait another 10 years or so. 3. How would you even fix the glitches and lag?

^ There's a point there, but many things aren't entirely impossibru, sadly.

There are a bunch of PS2 emulators out there, some more stable than others. But it's certainly possible. There's also Dolphin, a notable Gamecube emulator.

^That's a problem, because almost all of those emulators have many faults.

Yeah. Dolphin is a slow piece of junk. I had to dig through a few different versions before I found one that could even play a game. Don't get me started on the PS2 emu. I couldn't even get it to RUN.

Get Insomniac to buy back Spyro and get them to make a new game. You have a better chance there.

It is absolutely not impossible. I've been playing around with the iso with a hex editor and managed to move things around and all that. I've also edited some textures and made the portals warp to other areas. Not impossible I assure you.

Anyhow, I'm making my own spyro engine. "Spyro Eclipse." Look it up, theres a thread on this forum about it aswell. Once finished you can mod it, so if you really want to remake enter the Dragonfly just mod my game, won't be too difficult smilie

Enter the dragonfly could have been just as good as the first 3, but it floped when there wasn't enough time. I'm going to look into that Spyro Eclipse engine btw.

Hey, I think the Australian version may have fixed the framerate issue, but I don't know for sure. I made a thread about it in the Enter The Dragonfly topic.

Wow, I can't believe you guys are really doing this. It's not like you'll be able to play it on an actual GameCube or ps2! And If you're planning to fix the glitches, good luck.
