Just got the single pack today and as far as Im concerned and the people at Toys for bob it is legit. I was worried it would be fake but nothing about it leads me to believe it was made or is a fake. I ptomised a review foe you guys that were interested and Ill be posting pics shortly. What website is the best to upload the photos?

I use photobucket.com. It's free and it's fast. And awesome that it's not fake. I wonder what that baby will be worth if they never release it state side. Go wrap it in bubble wrap right now and put a diaper around it!

DrillSarge said in another thread (at least I think it was him) that someone from TfB confirmed the existance of Dark Spyro singles... who knows why they only sell them in Singapore... it doesn't really make sense but it does seem to have been confirmed...

I didn't believe it either and in fact someone else from TfB said they didn't think it was real (but were not sure). But when it was looked into it seems they do exist...

I think we need to have some really good quality photos though... have you got access to a decent DSLR?

Let me just make one thing very clear before I do this. I am not claiming the one I have is real. I know that they do exist and will be released in the U.S.A. eventually. It came from singapore where after some conversations with TFB confirmed some exist. This may be just an excellent bootleg. Until they are released in america we will not know for sure until I have one to compare it to. I do see sticker residue on the top left from where a price tag was taken off. This leads me to believe it is somewhat real. If he was going to print a copy then why put a price tag on it? Im taking pictures next to other magic skylanders hoping they have similarities but as u can tell wrecking balls background is different from voodoods. In certain ways they will all be unique but everything down to the mold of the plastic the figure sits in to the lines on the bottom of every package in plastic look identical. The package doesnt look to have been hairdryed and re upholstered or anything. Im going to keep investigating this as time passes but real or fake it is a novelty and I am happy with my purchase regardless. Im not a scalper Im a collector. Similar to replica guns or anything else people collect it may turn out to be fake but replixas still have collecting value especially when done this amazing if it is indeed fake. Here we go.
EDIT: Seems like the flash on my droid hit dark spyro everytime so of course it will look a little different in some photos so Ill do this. If there is a certain shot or position you want me to take a pic of then let me know. Im uploading just a few quick ones I took.

Nice! I ended up buying a 3DS so I could justify buying the Skylanders 3DS starter pack for the Dark Spyro.

I got mine from the 3DS version. It was on sale. I mostly wanted it for the portal though. It's too bad the stock PS3 portal has no USB port. The 3DS portal fixes this issue!

For the record, there's no difference that I can see from regular Spyro, asides from the obvious darker colouring. There might be a slight dark purple tinge to the attacks, but it's barely noticeable. Still, if you gotta catch them all...

The main question here has to be how many PMs do you have in your in box from Gamemaster trying to coherse this from you ? That is the main question here

The guy on ebay should be getting more. I know hes going back to singapore soon. Real or not it is a great novelty and one of a kind. The figure works and everything seems legit to me.

I don't care so much as I got D/Spyro and Ignitor for a cheap price when I resold the 3DS starter pack but I am sure that others were not so lucky...

When the game first vame out, last October, Activision swore black and blue that Dark Spyro would only ever be available via the 3DS pack. This was a conscious market ploy to entice people to purchase the handheld variant.

They have now demonstrated that they are prepared to reneg on prior promises if/when it suits them.

I just purchased Dark Spyro single on EBay as well. Drill Sarge, is this the same person you bought from?

No that is a different guy. Mine came from kentucky. Activision dodnt lie.....to americans. It will never be released in the statea. Whwn giants comes out they may release it then if at all. However singapore and the netherlands do have them.

Do you know of anyone else who has one besides ourselves? I'm pretty stoked to be getting one in a single pack!!!

Yeah, I don't think that was very fair, unless they only meant Dark Spyro was an exclusive in the UK/US. It kind of adds insult to injury that the console starter figures weren't made available for 3DS users.

I got mine on ebay. (The 3DS version one)

^ So did I, but then I caved over in Ireland and bought the 3DS game (great game BTW) and now have a spare [I'm not offering trades on this thread Dark52, just stating a point!]
I do think it is an insult to have Dark Spyro as a single when it clearly states on the 3DS box that he is an exclusive!
