They say in the title it's the Hex from Germany, and it's the only one in ebay, but in the listing in small font it says it's custom. Why not put custom in the title? I admit I placed a bid on it, but don't want it now since it isn't real.

Pretty weak. But at least he is very clear in the item description that it's not real.

I agree with Spyro Forever - very deceptive title and many people base their decision on that.

A fair while ago I sold the 3DS version sans Dark Spyro and Ignitor but with an Eruptor included. The buyer got cranky that I used the metadata "Like New" (given that all items sold were brand new and unused) even though I had spelled out in a large font what I had substituted and why. In the end, they were happy but their original impression was soured as their perception was based on everything *but* the description.

Wow, that is a good fake. Woulda fooled me. But yeah, theres no point in buying a pearl hex if its not a real one... Give em credit though, theres people out there that dont read the description and look at the picture and "Place Bid" thinkin their getting the pearl hex for cheap. I dont think hes rippin people off... hes takin advantage of all the dumb people out there... and there are a lot of em. Some might say, taking advantage of dumb people is wrong or cheap.... in all honesty, thats life.

If you bid on an item without reading the description, it's your own damn fault. Buyer beware. If its the only item of its kind on eBay, there's probably a reason.

Given how deceptive the item title is, I think it is erring on the side of fraud - the title specifically mentions the German exclusive and has no mention of the item being custom.

It is obvious that it is intended to deceive.

The picture is one taken of the real deal that I have seen before. I wonder why he didn't post a picture of the "custom paint job" Hex. Maybe the custom paint job is really bad.

I was outbid so I'm not going to be stuck with it, but he should maybe mention look a like in the title and custom.

That pic is false advertising. That pic is to make people think it is a real one.

The title is very misleading and likely worded on purpose to pray on people that dont pay attention. However because it does say its custom in the actual description I dont think they can really do much. They could force a title change on the item. I really think thats about.

pearl hex is actually real. I saw several pics. of it and seen some people have is multiple times. Whats wrong with saying its not really is not what if coming with. What I'm saying is that PEARL HEX IS REAL! You can say if it is fake, I don't mind. some people say its fake. But its real!

Anyway, back on topic, I do agree that that seller needs to be more specific in their item title, but then the blame could equally be placed on the buyer for not reading the description. I remember once that someone sold a PICTURE of a PS3 (this was back early in its lifespan), and all throughout the description, they said that they weren't selling a PS3, just a picture of it. It went for $300.

Kinda a cheap disclaimer there... I still think it's very dodgy what with the picture of a REAL pearl Hex... what if the person who is buying it has bad English or is a little kid (less likely but possible).

The guy has admitted the items are 'custom' and therefore fakes... the pictures are not of his items, they are clearely of the real versions. He's just using them to lure people into bidding using the lie that he put them back into the packaging for 'display purposes' though they have clearly never been opened.

but seriously i am just glad i dont collect this things, with all these fakes out there. no one will after a while know what is real or not.... i expect to see a Huge price drop of these so called special versions of skylanders in the future.

The problem is he's showing pictures of the real versions. Show pictures of the customs so people actually know what they are getting.
