I'm sure I'm not the only one who thinks this, heck I bet pretty much everyone would agree: I wish there was something you could do with all the money you get after fully upgrading!

Actually what I REALLY wish is if you could reset your upgrades without reseting your money/level/heroics. That way I could use all this excess cash to fund trying the other paths without getting annoyed at having to do the heroics and money gathering all over again... some day I plan to reset Gill Grunt so I can try him down the water weaver path that I've heard is better (and to get the PS3 trophy 'Call Me Fireman' for defeating Kaos with only Gill's power hose in Lava Lakes Railway) and also Trigger Happy because there is no way on earth a fully upgraded golden frenzy Trigger Happy could do Drobot's heroic challenge >.<

Every time I use a Skylander that is fully upgraded I feel I'm wasting the money they gain because as far as I can see, unless I reset, the characters will just keep gaining useless money I can never use until I stop playing or I hit the money cap (anyone know what that cap is?)

Yeah, it get's sooo annoying when I use my fully upgraded, lv 10 Bash on PvP and all my winnings are utterly useless. There should be other things to buy, and other things to do.

imo persephone should have a change path option. pay something and reset only the 3 abilities. keep the others, the money, the challenges and the level

Seriously?? Wow! I bow to your utter epicness. I can't seem to stop the bouncing bullets picking off the purples by accident... Maybe I should give it a few more trys.

Maybe there will be a use for the money in Giants (if the Skyalnders keep their coins from SSA)

I have Cynder for one week now. I started a new game and collected all the treasures with her.
Now I have over 20.000 coins with her and I don't need them...

Yeah, it's hard when you have a character you use all the time and then you have an over abundance of money. My Spyro has like...30K on him now.

See, what I think they should have done was had a uniformed moneys system, like Universe does. (Actually, we should have been able to sync with Universe for our coins, since they use the same money system) That way, if we have a new character, we can just use the money we already have saved.

Or use the money to unlock bonus content. Maybe a level, extra hats, power items (accessories that would appear on your Skylander, like a magic item)

I think in the thread with those.. Mini-landers someone mentioned you use money to upgrade them. Or something. I remember the term "money drain" being used.

one danger to a universal money pool is that you won't bother to actually play new figures without just getting them all their upgrades first, and that seems a little cheap.

another possibility i just thought up, why not do a sort of animal crossing type thing with the skylanders?
they all inhabit their own little homes in a skylanders village or something. each has their own unique house, and when you unlock that figure, they move in.

you of course have your own little place, and you use money to bling it out, as well as bling out your skylanders' homes

and you can talk to the skylanders, again, like animal crossing, and they would have their own little goofy dialogue and everything,

Getting them their upgrades on a universal pool system still doesnt gain them levels. It would make them slightly better at base and with more combat options. Could it be cheap? Thats really a matter of opinion on the part of the player.

While I like the idea, I cant see it being done at this point in Giants based on the short turn around on the sequel. We'd be looking at 32 (original) + 8 (new) + 8 (Giants) homes to be programmed. I dont see Activision/Toys for Bob being that dedicated to make nearly 50 individual unique location homes. Maybe if they actually decide to continue to expand into a third game and there is actually more than a year put into development.

That would never happen because all the marketing explains that the skylanders are frozen in our world and it is through the portal of power that we send them to and give them life in the game world. Having them living in the game world even while the figure is off of the portal would break the continuity of the story/marketing.

Eh... The whole concept is arguable. I can place two of the same character into the portal which totally destroys the characters as individuals. The ending of the first game implied heavily the curse being broken. Take into account you can port your characters around to all your friends portals, therefore showing greatly that there multiple Portal Masters in "our" world. So there is nothing to say that the others living in the game world aren't on someone elses portal somewhere else.

some day I plan to reset Gill Grunt so I can try him down the water weaver path that I've heard is better (and to get the PS3 trophy 'Call Me Fireman' for defeating Kaos with only Gill's power hose in Lava Lakes Railway)

For the record, I did exactly this a couple of nights ago to get that achievement on XBox. Resetting Gillie and getting him enough gold and experience to level up to 10 and full upgrades only took 20-30 minutes, so well worth it when it was my last achievement I had to work for (given that one cheev is merely getting all of the other cheevs).

As a former Harpooner how would you rate your new Water Weaver?

Also where did you train to get enough money to upgrade fully in 20-30 minutes? I've heard that the first part of Lair of Kaos is good but I'd be concerned about sending a level 1 in there myself...

I could not use the pirate chest in the ruins area (XBox version) so simply took Gillie in to the Lair of Kaos multiple times.

It was not nearly as bad as you may expect and it levelled him with experience and gold quite rapidly.

Ironically, I tried the pirate chest on other levels but lost patience trying to find them so stuck with Lair of Kaos.

Oh, yeah, it did help that I had 1 remaining chest to do on that level (given the prior choice to get the legendary treasure) but it was not a crazy boost and simply would have meant another go (or not even that given that I had enough gold for all before I had gotten to level 10).

I don't seem to be able to avoid the purple chompies totally... my strategy (which has worked on Spyro, Gill Grunt, Terrafin, Drobot and Stealth Elf) is to pick off most of the greens on my way to that area where there is only green chompies and by the time I've been around there I have about 80ish but in order to get to 100 I have to go to areas where there are both purples and greens... usually with the purples behind the greens so even if I get to that point without killing any purples the last few are the problem. If I get the chance today I'll have a few more tries after work, maybe if I get a lucky run I might manage it.

What speed boosts does your TH have? Maybe I should give mine a speed hat, I think he has the halo on still from the Kaos fight he very nearly did on his own.
