Just maxed out a champion for the first time and I'm wondering if I should ever pick up any gems, jewels, coins on this figure again. Should I just swap out when I loot and let other undeveloped champions get the rewards or is there something I've missed?

As far as i know the only purpose for the money is upgrades, so just swap out when you find treasure.

Nope, there's nothing to spend coins on once you upgrade a character. Which is a shame, since with a lot of characters, you'll want to keep using them. They should have had some sort of unified coin system, so that all Skylanders had access to the same pool of money. My Spyro has like..30K on him now.

^ Yep, that's what happens when you keep using the same Skylanders after you've upgraded them (what a waste)

I hope that if there's a sequel they fix this

I hope that if/when there's a sequel, you can use the booty you amassed in the original game.

and if you started your figure over again you can just take the money out of the bank lol or give it to skylanders who need it.

I do enjoy how all the characters get their own money at first, because it's easier for me to keep track and not have to pick-and-choose for upgrades, however I wish I could transfer the treasure/money to another character once I've maxed one out. My Drobot has 7k...

my zap has almost 5k and has all his power ups/abilites and he's max level =/ all he needs is the heroic challenges and that just nets him more money LOL

When you update your figure to Spyro's Universe online it tracks the money it has.... Who knows why this is????? maybe it will do something post-beta

Basically what they need is a "gold sink" in the game. Something other than upgrades to spend money on. Even if it's just "vanity" items.

For example it would be nice if you could, ala World of Warcraft, transmog one hat into another so that you can keep the stats but make it look like a different hat.

It would also be very cool if, as was speculated by Toleroh, spend the money on virtual things in the online environment. It is certainly something that should have been addressed during playtesting of the game.

Nope, although it's displayed in the profile of that character in your Lair.

I'd like to have something like that where it's connected Online and you can spend it on upgrades for your Skyland. What we need is something like that ingame, where you could see all your Skylanders on an island that you could customize. Or something like a game where you bet coins on something and then win an item or something that appears in your Skyland (or heck, even in the Ruins)

They could have also done something with skins. We saw that 4 characters have a palette swap, so it really shouldn't have been too hard to do that for all the characters. Even if it was something like solid blue colored.

Well, they have to kick everyone off of the online world when they add the new characters. So we can hold out hope that they will make the change and have the $ from the console be applied to the online world.

Important to this topic, the gameplay videos from E3 all show that the individual characters each have their own amount of money. So...that didn't happen.
