#1 Posted: 00:16:02 23/01/2012 | Topic Creator My friend told me he bought me the 3ds version of skylanders for my bday. He said he got it used at GameStop without the portal and figures, (he got me only the game.) I have the wii version and was wondering if the wii portal will work with the 3ds version of the game. #2 Posted: 00:23:53 23/01/2012 This is one of the few combos that won't work. The 3DS portal talk to the 3DS via IR; none of the other portals do that. All portals have some way of using USB to talk to a host but the 3DS does not connect to it that way. Hence, you can use a 3DS portal for console/PC play but you can't use a non-3DS portal for 3DS play, sorry! --- Soylent Green is People! #3 Posted: 00:25:01 23/01/2012 ^ No, unfortunately other portals won't work on the 3DS since it has a built in infrared sensor for the system to detect but the 3DS portal is compatible with other game consoles. I could be wrong though, so someone please test this for me. I can't test it because my 3DS is in for a repair. --- Have a Wii U? My ID and Mii name is OpalOsprey. So why don't you add Mii ? Godzilla Blue Sparx Gems: 504	#4 Posted: 00:29:49 23/01/2012 I use the 3DS portal on my PS3 and it works very good. Unfortunately, the other portals wont work on the 3DS because they don't have USB connection.

Orohu Blue Sparx Gems: 704	#10 Posted: 03:32:41 23/01/2012 Well, the only compatibility I have personally tested is the PS3 portal in an American PS3 and Wii, running the American PS3/Wii and European Wii versions of Skylanders. Works like a charm! --- [My Collection]

However, a 3DS portal can work with other consoles if you have the cord that came with the game. From my understanding of the problem, just know that no other portal can work with the 3DS game except form the 3DS one. --- Collection Complete! 37/37
