Wow I just recently got the volcanic vault ....I can not believe the size of it!
Ever small, not sure what I was expecting but thought it would be a little bigger!

A little bigger than our Canadian toonie. ($2) haha


Volcanic vault, a "little" disappointing!

is that the size of a normal "item" you get with the adventure packs? or smaller??

In my opinion, the size of the toys shouldn't be too much of a concern. It still does what it does in the game.

You mean items like fighting swords???? Well yes same size but because the vault is flat makes it even seem smaller!

ooooh ok! and yes i was asking about the fighting swords as a size comparison. Can you take a pic of the volcanic vault token next to the fighting swords, or any other item for a comparison?? id appreciate it thanks =)

So answer me this... could you take a single Volcanic Vault and have it unlock the Battle Arena level for multiple people with different portals/savegames?

its just like any other sklander/item.
Take it and use wherever.

Except on 3DS
And maybe the PC.

No you can not open the little lid....it's just opened a small crack.

Is kinda cool ....it is clear on inside so the light from the portal makes it look like light is coming out of the vault.

and as much as people are selling volanic vault, and the pictures on ebay, i thought the thing was like the size of the portal. and it only unlocks 1 pvp level, and doenst do anything in the game.

I admit that when I first got the Vol Vault many months ago, I felt the same - the way it was photographed made it look so much more impressive.

I only paid $7-8 for it so don't feel too stooged but, yeah, it could have been a bit bigger I feel. Maybe at least not so flat? Then again, it was designed to be added to a box readily.

Wasn't Dr. Evil's secret lair in a volcano? And wasn't Mini Me in that volcano? Now we've got a Mini Volcanic Vault?

Yes that is where I got mine, there are still marked versions at Best Buy.

I was thinking about going into Best Buy and just asking if they'd sell them separately. Do they give you them when you buy it or is it like actually inside the box already?
I kind of want one, but I probably wouldn't pay over $10 for it really. Probably the last thing I'd get for my collection.

You don't get much from it for a $40 asking price on eBay.

All you get is the pvp level and a check mark for the online game and then get to put it up as you never use it again.

Also to answer Incindium.

I assume you can unlock the pvp level for multiple systems just like you can for a skylander or for the action packs. So if you had one you could unlock it for all of your friends and unlike sharing a skylander you can keep using it.

The only thing is that you could only register it once for the online game (but it does not show up anywhere you would just get a check mark under the browse menu in your layer.

I definitely couldn't see myself paying for it, especially since I rarely use PvP levels. I'm glad I got mine for free with my game!

I was also surprised with the size of the figure but it is basically the same size as other item figures. I think it's worth picking it up if you can as I bet it's value will soar by the end of the year.

It's been out since launch....Best Buy exclusive when you buy the game. Marked on the box of the starter pack.

Are they still for sale at best buy if you buy the starter packs?? 'cuz when i get my taxes back i wanted to buy the Wii starter kit for my little brothers and if i can still get a V.V. from Best Buy ill buy it there and keep the V.V. for myself lol my brothers dont mind.

no its not, they're prob. trying to get everyone hyped up and they have some in stock they just wont ship them until feb. they prob. got a bunch from best buy which is why they're loose. =)

toywiz wants too much for it in my opinion lol. the cheapest on ebay is $40 and thats STILL expensive....

Meaning, one could buy it, put it on the portal to unlock it and then resell it.

yes, and thats what ALOT of people do, but i'd rather keep it for my own personal collection, specially if i was to play a new game or lost my game and had to buy a new one etc., course idk maybe it saves to the hardrive/memory unit. =)

Personally I like having the physical vault for my collection....would not re-sell it!

I'm really glad I never shelled out the cash for this one on eBay. Too bad it didn't come with the 3DS version I ended up getting at Best Buy for $50 this weekend.... Would've been a nice "little" bonus.

Hi,

I'm in the UK and we have just got one of these off eBay and when placing it on the Portal it does nothing.

We get no prompt on the screen and there are only 3 arenas to choose in battle mode and no option for a volcanic vault one.

Do you think this is broken or are we doing something wrong. I'm a 42 year old Skylanders numpty BTW with 2 young kids now going crazy as its not working lol.

Edit: I turned on my Wii and loaded my Skylands Adventure (story mode) file. With an empty Portal of Power turned on, I put the Volcanic Vault on the Portal. It did a snazzy animation, the game then asked for a Skylander. I popped one on, he came into the game with a little message on the top right of the screen saying the Volcanic Vault was unlocked. Hope that helps you.

When I got mine(3ds) from Gamestation, the guy there just told us to wait a second, opened a drawer behind the counter, grabbed one out and handed it over.

However, buying the Xbox version from ASDA yielded nothing - no vault.

So whether it was a limited store thing here in the UK, or what, I'm not sure :/

Well, a while ago they were just giving the away when you were buying something Skylanders related stuff. In the UK if I recall?

In the UK the Vault was given away exclusively by Game and Gamestation but only at launch and only whilst stocks lasted.
