In short, noone knows.

We can hope and speculate but this is the limit of our knowledge, sorry.

skylanders has so much potential as a cash cow for activision and given the success so far i would say highly likely ... and all of the usual merchandise; books, comics, clothes etc.

Honestly considering what the NDA's said about how Skylanders would be the in the top 10 bestelling games of the year if you combine all the sku's and the accessory sales I'd be surprised if they didn't make a squeal or follow up of some kind.

A squeal?

I honestly believe they set them selves up well we do not know the full potential of these characters. I believe they set it up so they could IF it took off this time. My point is they top out @ Lvl 10 do they have potential to go higher? EON says the journey is just beginning. Willl there be more characters than the first 32 who knows but a sequel or more I can definitley see.

Anyone with a single can confirm this. It says :

"Works with the original Skylanders Spyros Adventure video game; sequel games may require different peripherals."

Sequels were probably in early development before the first was even released, but as of today, it pays to keep customers focused on the first product. Announcing this sequel would be a large hit to the desire of anyone who's on the fence about buying the first one; therefore, it won't happen until E3 at earliest.

That's just lingo talk in case they DO decide to make a sequel and inevitably kick us all in our collective groins by buying another 32 figures.

Skylanders was made by a company that likes to milk cash cows. Look at what Activision did with Guitar Hero? Now that they know Skylanders is a hit, they'll (quite possibly and unfortunately) drag it into the ground.

Oh, and I'm sure they'll release an additional 30+ figures for a Skylanders 2. Hopefully they'll try to appease some of the fan base and let you use the ones from the original game. With how hard it's become to find any Champions at all, I know I'm not going to purchase any of the figures for a sequel. It's not worth it to me.

Time will show but as an experienced old gamer I'm definitly sure they are already working on it.
