I started to play my game this early morning after getting three new figs, Dark Spyro, Stealth Elf and Sonic Boom... and with one of the figs sitting on the portal it is still saying place a Skylander on the portal... i even tryed with the other figs i had that i have been playing..


Does anyone know what is going on?

I had the same problem at a time, though I belive I made it do so by changing charactors during a conversation.
I would suggest turning off the system and the portal and turning them back on.

youre 3ds portals batteries are dead. replace them and itll work just fine

this was when I first started it this morning... even changed ports for it.. nothing.. its not reading any of my figures... *sighs* waiting for the shipping label to send it in and get a replacement so... I'm gonna be without the game for a bit

that would be the sensible thing to do... 'cept its a x-box 360, and does not have batteries...


Have: Spyro, Gill Grunt, Trigger Happy, Eruptor, Hex, Stump Smash, Terrafin, Sonic Boom, Stealth Elf and Dark Spyro
Want: Zap, Legendary Spyro, Legendary Bash, Drobot, FlameSlinger, Cynder, Sunburn and Camo

as I said, my portal does not need batteries

The game asks you to place the original figurine back on the portal so that it can finish the conversation. That is not to say that some glitch may not have happened in your specific instance which caused the logic to fail.

EDIT: My statement pertains to console version; not sure about the accuracy of it wrt 3DS version?

The only problem I've had so far with the 3DS portal was when it randomly crashed halfway summoning a figure. Sadly, if it won't work, the only thing you can do is contact Acti.

have you read this earlier post about portals not working?... then read it, it may give you a better understanding of why the portal get broken...

I did so, the game continued as Spyro, though it ended when I attempted to upgrade him, the screen was all wavey-ish and I couldn't move.

Hmm. Try turning the portal off and possibly even the game. I found when it acts up, just resetting it will do the trick.

Is it me, well my kids really, or does everyone have a problem with their portals chewing through batteries? My kids have only been playing the game for a week and this is our 4th set of batteries.

there have been some problems with some portal eating batteries. but how much do your kids use the portal a day/hours?... the 3 batteries should at least hold a week of regular playing...

Many people have had this problem, myself included. It just appears that some portals chew up more battery power than others.

It was an entire month before my first set of batteries ran out.

how many hours did you use(7 hours a day?) and did you use it every day..

It feels like 24/7 but I know its not. It seems like after 36 hours of use, i need new batteries.

Yes. I played the game for 3.5 days and had to go through about 9 batteries. They die even faster if you switch a lot.
