how do the Darklight crypt items work [CLOSED]

not Ghost roaster and darklight crypt leval I mean hourglass and the potion

I am not sure what the hourglass really does, never used it...the potion will bring a dead Character back to life!

The hourglass slows down all opposition for a limited amount of time.

The items can be used once each per level.

The hourglass slows down enemies for a short time, and the potion heals your Skylander for a short amount of time. I believe you can only use each item once per level.

It's a problem for my Darklight Crypt level.
All my items work, but I don't think my extra level is working. I put it on, it shows on the screen, and the cutscene shows. But when it's over, it doesn't say "2 new items registered!" (or whatever it says) and I can't find the level. Anywhere.
The ghost thing happens in other levels when I put it on, but I can't find the level. And I need Ghost Roaster's soul gem.

Is it just me doing something wrong, or do I need to buy another one?

go to the core of light and go up from there than go left

For reference, and anyone who doesn't know, the actual crypt toy can be placed on the portal once per level, where a purple shockwave will wipe out all enemies on screen. This only happens once per level as well.

The same happens when the pirate ship is placed on the portal once per level. A huge fire blast will wipe the enemies from the screen after cannonballs fill the screen.
