I'm having a slight problem getting the totem to appear in ruins, whenever I start a new game it doesn't seem to appear again, does this apply if you add a skylander to your collection on a new game that has been used before, or how many skylanders you have or something? I've only seen the totem appear the amount of times it is suppost to in my first playthrough, I'm confused, can anyone shed some light on this?

Not sure if this is what you mean, but after a certain amount of gems gained, the totem no longer appears.

Even on a New game slot? if you have a certain ammount of gems it won't appear is what you're saying?

Oh, sorry, I misread. I haven't started a new game yet, although I would have thought it should work then... I'll try and check it out if I can.

I recently started playing the Wii version of the game so I'm sorry to ask a stupid question but what is the totem for? Is it that thing that rises from the ground when you pass by it with elemental symbols on it?

Yes, that is it.

Shoot the lowest totem section with the a char from the appropriate element to remove that totem section. Blow away all totem sections for a treasure bonus.

Each time you can blow away the totem it will be larger and include more element types but will also provide a better reward when destroyed.

If you do this in a new game you may have to change ownership of your Skylanders or they will not register in the new game (you can play them but the challenges/colllection will not unlock. I think the totem requires ownership as well).

when you start a new game and save you must do the ownership thing... or the game will think its another players figurines...

For those who have changed ownership, does it change anything else? I'd like to register them on my PS3 version now too.

it only register the figurine in your collection in the new game, and open the heroic challenge. dont think it do much else...

I do change ownership but the totem is not appearing that is my problem :/

the totem only appears once in one file if you delete the file it still wont appear again no matter what but you could make it appear again by using anouther storage device

What exactly do you mean? Do you mean I have to delete ALL of my Skylanders save files from my PS3?

Same problem here. How do I use another storage file?

I only need the air elament on the last totem after that i'm done but if it dosent appear and you didn't use all elements it is a problem
